Since every major blogger already knows one of our identities, there's no reason to keep it a secret from our readers any longer. Yes, my name is Ben Tribbett, and while I don't write everything on here, I do write a lot of it about Northern Virginia. So to be fair to everyone- when I write a story, I will put my initials at the bottom. If other people who post on here want to reveal themselves, or not, I don't care. I won't reveal any of our sources that don't want to be.
Good work on this blog, Ben. You're obviously a bright guy.

Ah it is quite a relief knowing that there is only one pontificating jackass of this magnitude in Va. Before I thought there were two, now my fears are relieved.

So was that you defending yourself back in the Spring? Pathetic.

Anonymous critics can go to hell (and yes, that's a Republican saying that to those criticizing a Dem).
Kinda wish you'd have stayed pseudonymous! In any event, I think you proved that people can still be objective and hold an opinion at the same time.
Great job. Wish I could have worked in tandem with you on this, but Not John Chichester just couldn't hack it!

Well, so you aren't Mark Rozell, and not even Not Mark Rozell. For that matter, Not Alan Lichtman, Not Ann Coulter and Not Michelle Matlin. Certainly Not Chap Peterson and Not Leslie Byrne. I was kind of wondering about Not Dave Marsden, but no, not that, either. However, Not Larry Sabato?
Great job so far, but we are holding you to the last 21 days, Ben. Now that this game is up, are you cashed out or will there be another bit of fun ahead?

Cool...
Actually, I was thinking that all y'all would do a post on Nov 9, revealing who everyone is, because, well... it would be after the elections. But whatever, knowing or not knowing who writes any of this doesn't make it any better or worse.
Keep up the good work, Ben.

I can't believe there were actually people that didn't know it was you. I thought it was the worst kept secret.

43rd, I agree. The more people heard, the less I cared who knew- it just became pointless to keep it a secret.
Posted by: Not Larry Sabato | October 18, 2005 at 06:27 PM
Makes sense. It's been fun to read regardless of who was writing.

Nice work Ben. BTW, see the new Diageo/Hotline numbers?
Posted by: Shipwrecked | October 18, 2005 at 07:16 PM
Damn it, Benjamin....I was getting used to being adored at cocktail parties as knowing one of the Not Larry Sabatos......oh well.

Whether you're called NLS, Ben or the Man In The Moon, you're doing some great work here.

So is "Ben Tribbett" supposed to be a household name? What to you do and what qualifications do you have?
Posted by: Tom Cat | October 20, 2005 at 08:56 AM
That would certainly explain your enthusiasm for the candidacy/campaign of Hilda Barg.
Posted by: James Young | October 20, 2005 at 10:48 AM
When I knew that Jay Hughes knew who one of the NLS bloggers was, I had it figured out. Despite the reveal, it makes no difference to me. It is a solid site with good info, even if it does sometimes get into some gossip. Then again, this is THE INTERNET -- gossip's playground.
Keep up the good work, Ben, even though you are now unmasked.....
That still leaves the other NLS members as mysteries though. And who is the mysterious "Dr. Alan Parsons" over on the Virginia Virtucon blog? Hmmmmmm?

by the way, the earlier 43rd resident isn't me, but i figured you were ben.
