Webb-Miller Debate

Are any other bloggers interested in organizing a Webb-Miller debate?

I talked to Virginia Centrist and J. Sarge about this.  They were both interested.  Everyone would get a chance to get their questions answered, we could get publicity to more people who have never seen any blogs, and we could help Virginia Centrist avoid the restraining orders that statewide candidates always seem to slap on him when they won't answer his questions.

Seems like a winner.  What do you all think?  Rules?  Where would we have it?   Discuss.

"we could help Virginia Centrist avoid the restraining orders that statewide candidates always seem to slap on him when they won't answer his questions."

That's totally true. I wanted to know if Jerry Kilgore was also a uniter and not a divider like George Bush. They wouldn't answer. I pushed too hard. I probably shouldn't have fedexed them that horse head.

But seriously - I think this will be two things:

1. Informative and positive for the blog world - after all, nominating contests are about activists and hard core partisans. And that's the basic makeup of the blogosphere right now
2. Entertaining

Yes, really good idea.

I think J. Sarge should host it. he offers compelling analysis and has remained above the fray.

I want to see an actual, televised debate. I want it to be hosted by Larry Sabato (the real one, sorry Ben), and I want him to make them answer REAL questions (Like with the pledge that Kilgore failed). Call me crazy, but I think that's the only way Virginians will know who they're voting for.

Me, I like Webb.

You aren't going to see a televised debate for a whipsaw Democratic primary...

Dear Organizers,
I am a professor at Northern Virginia Community College. We could certainly sponsor such an event and would be pleased to do so. We have a democrats club that would be glad to provide a forum. If anyone can tell me who to contact to get this going I would appreciate it.

Many thanks.

Hey, I didn't say it was going to happen! I just said I wanted it! :)

Twas the Stones that said "You can't always get what you want."

I want to see a telvised debate between the two candidates so I can get a really clear idea of who they are. I know I'm not going to get it, VC. But I can dream, can't I?

The Gools: email me at virginiacentrist@yahoo.com

Dannyboy: No dreaming in the Democratic Party!

I think my comment musta got caught up in the spam filter.

I'd love to see Webb v. Miller debate.

Where do I sign up?

Of course I would be included as a moderator no doubt?

I've posted my thoughts over at Commonwealth Conservative. Great idea, either as a blog debate or a debate put on by bloggers, but I prefer the former.

NLS, on the cutting edge.

Hmm.

Gotta go with the blog debate. That would be fun to watch.

Too bad you won't let us conservatives in on the fun though...I'm VERY interested in seeing how Jim Webb works in this field.

Good luck with this. Keep us "posted"!
