I accept your nomination!
Looks like I just won the online Democratic straw poll for Lt. Governor!!!
Final Results:
Ben Tribbett 49%
Chap Petersen 16%
David Englin 12%
Leslie Byrne 5%
Phil Puckett 5%
L.F. Payne 5%
Harris Miller 3%
Jody Wagner 3%
Onzlee Ware 2%
Bud Phillips 1%
Dan Bowling 0%
Thanks to Raising Kaine and Virginia Progressive for sponsoring this poll!
Thanks also to all my supporters! :) This gives me one more straw poll win in my life than Harris Miller!
I'm happy to step aside for a run off between 2nd place Chap Petersen and 3rd Place David Englin.
With a showing like that in an LG poll, I bet Ben would win for Gov!!! What has the world come to?
Congratulations Ben!!

More spin from the Tribbett camp. It pains me to see them toil pointlessly while the real Lt. Governor candidate for 2009, Harris Miller, puts together a top notch campaign with an excellent staff.
It's obvious that Mr. Tribbett rigged this poll with Tribbett supporters. This poll is meaningless. We'll see what happens June 2009.

Dear "I do not trust Ben Tribbett" ... so few people can pull off the color green, and you are not one of them.
You will see in June '09 that Ben will win, through the votes of all of his supporters ... That day you will be a lovely shade of angry red. :-)

I am glad Ben won! He has the ability to carry Southwest Virginia, he can break through the culture.
Only three years and 17 days to gather signatures, LETS GET TO WORK!

Ha! The straw-poll joke made my night. Thanks, dude. And congrats. Say...seeing as you are stepping aside, I think you should endorse one of the two in the runoff. :)

Settle down, Ben. It might just be a function of the voters kissing your a**.

One more thing:
IDNTBT:
Funny as hell. Laughed my ass off.

Deeds-Tribbett, It's unbelievable (cue the music)!

I heard Ben Tribbet was caught in bed with both a young boy and a dead girl. Will this hurt his chances?

We need a new Presidential straw poll.

biased media:
In the 8th District, that will help Ben.

The question is, will the Virginia blogosphere rally around a Ben Tribbett candidacy? And, most importantly, who will Alice Marshall support? That's the critical question, no doubt.
PS The expression is "live boy or dead girl," and I doubt Ben would be caught "dead or alive" with either! Ha.

I voted for Ben because I know he can crush both me and my blog....
he's like the "Saddam Hussien" of the blogosphere.
....did I mention how much I love Ben....

Republitarian:
Are you trying to say that the world is better off without Ben Tribbett?
Posted by: Virginia Centrist | March 30, 2006 at 09:20 AM
VC, if your name is Dave Marsden or Gerry Connolly, th world probably is better off with Ben.
Posted by: GOPHokie | March 30, 2006 at 09:27 AM
Should say "without Ben"
Posted by: GOPHokie | March 30, 2006 at 09:28 AM
Lowell,
Are you saying that Ben will not get caught...he is that good. This is sounding like a Gary Hartesque challenge. I will prove it! While I am at it I will bring your blog to its knees! Don't you realize that I buy paper by the ton and ink by the barrel?
Posted by: baised media | March 30, 2006 at 09:28 AM
GOPHokie has a point!

As a matter of fact...check the results again.

Maybe I could e-mail you sometime VL, and explain comments that "drip with sarcasm".....
Saddam was fairly inluential...you know....;o)

In all seriousness, David Englin for Lt. Gov., or Governor for that matter, would be likely to get me goin'. He is a terrific progressive and knows how to campaign. He could take Leslie Byrne's progressive inroads of '05 and smoke out enough votes to put him over the top in 2009!
Posted by: Doug in Mount V ernon | March 30, 2006 at 12:25 PM
Doug:
I'm pretty sure Deeds has the nomination lined up for Governor 2009. I'd be amazed if anybody actually ran against him. Englin could have a shot for Lt. Gov, though.
