Sources tell me Manassas City Councilman Hal Parrish is entering the race for 50th district Delegate. His caucus opponent will be fellow Manassas City Councilman Jackson Miller. Others are also considering a run on the GOP side.
Caucus Outlook: Slight-Lean Miller
This is going to be a nasty race.

I disagree - I think Hal will win.

So, has anyone heard anything about a date for the special election? I would imagine THAT could have great bearing on which way this thing will go.

Comment No. 1 is correct. From things that I have heard, but NOT published (and won't), if certain slanderous types apply the same standard to Hal as they have to a certain former GOP primary candidate, Hal is toast.

I think Hal has a good shot but Jackson is going to be a tough guy to beat. Honestly, I think the method of selection will mandate who wins. I'm a fan of the primary as it includes the most people and is less demanding of people's time.

A nasty race?
I love it how the parties always pick the most ideologically extreme candidate (Craddock, Golden, et al.) instead of being pragmatic and picking the candidate most likely to win. The parties apparently like to eat their young.
If the GOP goes after Hal, they are liable to push him right into the Democrat's open arms....

This is a special election. Primaries are not allowed for the nominations for special elections. You can only have a caucus, mass meeting, or a convention for a special election.

I hope the good Republicans of PWC remember what happened during the last special election in Loudon for the 33rd Senate district.

Winconservative,
Unfortunately (actually fortunately, from my perspective) they don't get it. I think you should change your name to Loseconservative.

I thought it was Chapman that got nasty with Harry Parrish, why is it assumed Jackson Miller would do the same? Is that the only way he can win in your opinion?
