Good for Miller. Let him take the low road - Its already backfiring on him.
So far, I've met no less than 60 active Democrats who say Miller has really ruined it for them by his negative tactics. Anyone who is an acitve volunteer on the Webb campaign can attest to this.
Me, I make my rounds for Webb on weekends and after work, talk positively to voters about him, and give them solid reasons why he gives Democrats the best chance against Allen. Its ALWAYS a no-brainer for most Democrats who hear my message.
Miller is burning more bridges than he's erecting, and he's blind to it.

Chuck Schumer is going to BITCH SLAP Harris Miller.

When you said "Harris Miller makes me want to vomit" I thought you were going to link to a picture of harris miller!

Why is this so sick? If Webb really said this stuff why is it so wrong to let voters know about it? Did Webb think these comments would never get out?
Posted by: DLC = New Labour | June 02, 2006 at 03:28 PM
Democrats don't attack people with stuff that would hurt in the general election.
That's why Schumer told Miller to shut his goddamn mouth.
Posted by: | June 02, 2006 at 03:28 PM
Harris Miller has crossed the line into evil. Period.
Posted by: | June 02, 2006 at 03:34 PM
This is silly. Unless this stuff is made up, Miller didn't do anything wrong.

"... Americans do not have the background, education or skills to qualify for these [IT] assignments." -- Harr

That is sick, fking sick.
This race has hit an all time low.
I am done with this.
Gloves off.

Complain, complain, complain. The hypocrisy continues.
The Webb campaign releases a cartoon suggesting Miller is a killer because of his job. Hooray! The race is over. Go us!
The Miller campaign releases a flyer using a legitimate quote, sourced, showing one of Webb's I would say very controversial opinions (this from the man who says he may change parties but never changes his views). Miller is sick! Miller is evil! Won't Chuck Schumer be angry (you think he never criticized the views of Geraldine Ferraro or Mark Green in the 1998 Democratic Senate primary in NY? Guess again).

Ben,
What exactly did Miller do wrong here? Aren't Webb's words fair game?

Anyone who works/worked in tech is not surprised by anything Harris Miller does.
Harris Miller spent 10 years disparaging American tech workers, continuously running down their abilities so he could replace them with foreign indentured servents as the wealth that was created from hard work flowed into his pockets
Nobody lowerd the value of a tech career more than Harris

I'm a moderate republican and I don't care for either of the two - BUT - If Webb said it, even in 1979 when times were 'different', then he obviously has a background where he believed women to be subordinate to men. I wouldn't want someone who thinks that way representing me. While the tactics may be wrong, there isn't really anything wrong about pointing this out. Calling it 'sick' and making you want to 'vomit' - that's a little extreme and an overreaction.

DAMN...
That is an effective ad too. Beat the cartoon anyway.

It's official: Kerry has endorsed. Another Miller canard falls by the wayside.
Miller hasn't been endorsed by a single sitting Democratic U.S. Senator, not one? Why?
Posted by: J.C. Wilmore | June 02, 2006 at 04:11 PM
Nope - I promise that he'll be fuming when he hears about this...
Harris Miller is a national joke. He's a punch line to the "why do Deomcrats always lose" gag.

Webb in 1979: Against women in the military.
Webb in 2006: Against gays in the military.
WHY IS THIS NOT FAIR GAME? HOW IS THIS NOT RELEVENT? The most promiment female veteran in our Commonwealth endorsed Miller, ostensibly becuase of this issue.

I know of Harris Miller from tech, and one word describes his attitude toward working people

The latest Miller ad does not dredge up old quotes.
These stupid Webb quotes are from March and April 2006.
Webb said he hasn't changed his positions, just parties. God help us.
Webb says he still thinks Reagan is the greatest. God help us again.
What are you complaining about? Webb is a Reaganite and proud of it. What is "sick" about informing the voters about that?
Plus, I think Webb looks great standing with Reagan and appearing between Bush and Allen, the two candidates he endorsed in 2000.
Remember, we live and die in politics by our words and actions.

Harris Miller is the adult in this race. He's a liberal on some social issues (like gay marriage) and a responsible neoconservative on most other issues. The Washingtonpost enthusiastiaclly endorses Miller. Harris Miller fully supported our corageous stand in our military's action in Iraq to free the people. We introduced market economics and democracy to the people of Mesopotamia through the support of people like Harris Miller. Iraq is now "on-line" and benefiting from trade and peaceful neighborhoods. Harris is a an idealist and realist on the economic situation: commerce ensures our well being. Special legislation to help our agriculture and hi-tech communities make more profits which means more dividends that we can re-invest. It is important that we continue to expand the various guest worker programs. Guest workers help keep costs down and do the work that Americans won't (like operate trucks, construction, computer programming and journalism). Let's face it, these aren't glamour jobs and probably not worthwhile lifelong careers for Americans. This frees up capital to invest more in other areas like bigger cars and better private schools. Willing workers from around the globe and cheap commodities from overseas have helped to fuel our resurgent housing industry. Guys like Harris have built the new Millenium. We owe our current prosperity to men like Harris Miller. Some may criticize Harris for being a "wonk", but his accomplishments speak for themselves. Without Harris and his sponsor Diebold, we wouldn't have fully automated voting without the messy paper trails. We'd be paying more at the grocery store because Harris got the extra workers out the fields without any unnecssary INS paperwork. Harris Miller's critical support for outsourcing Federal workers is a bold concept that will cut costs and thus cut the deficit. That's less taxes for Americans to pay. Let's face it, there a lot of slacking going on in some those agencies. Some Americans may have to get used to lower wages, as Harris points out; but we can make that a good thing: business saves money so they can invest. The people who lose their jobs would proably spend the money on things like gambling or diapers. The money we save can be invested in more productive things like vacation homes and Roth IRAs: things that help our social leadership and create jobs. Harris helps set our social investment priorities. The loser that support Webb can find other jobs. Miller is a win/win situation for the global economy.
Miller: Building the New America!
Thanks for the endorsment, Washington Post!

Webb had to know this was coming. His whole campaign is built around his biography. Did Webb not think someone was going to use his past against him?
Posted by: DLC = New Labour | June 02, 2006 at 04:30 PM
Someone needs to dig up the original. I don't trust any flyer from Miller that uses ". . ." to form the phrase being stuck in Webb's mouth.

Can somebody explain to me why Harris Miller was in India the month before the 2004 Presidential campaign?

" Guest workers help keep costs down and do the work that Americans won't (like operate trucks, construction, computer programming and journalism)"
Hey Thomas Paine Patriot, do you know just how stupid you sound when you say these things? Americans won't drive trucks, work in construction, program computers, or be journalists???
I'll just assume you are a flame and trying to provoke people. The problem is that people really do believe what you just said. And if the Democrats don't RUN LIKE HELL AWAY from this position it is going to take them down.
A Democratic party without the support of labor is well - the Republican party with a different mascot.
If you would crap on labor in the name of globalization my suggestion is that you register as a Republican.
