That's what one member of their own committee is alleging.

Should a Sheriff be offering legal advice to people on whether to file assault charges- when he is Chairman of the local political party and it has political impact?
Wade's actions reek of a conflict and deserve some federal attention.

So let me get this right, because some anonymous person put out some racist literature at a committee meeting BEFORE Mike Wade is elected the committee chairman, he's the guy whose picture you put up under the title "KKK"?
Did you even bother to look at Sheriff Wade's command staff? http://www.co.henrico.va.us/sheriff/commandstaff.html
His Chief Deputy? Black. His two Jail Administrators? Black. His Controller? Black. That's right, four out of five comman personnel are black.
If you have any decency, you'll take Mike Wade's picture off this post.
Anon 2:02 - RK said Wade talked Green out of seeking a warrant, not that he gave legal advice. Isn't harmony within the committee something the chairman SHOULD be working on?

"Anon 2:02 - RK said Wade talked Green out of seeking a warrant, not that he gave legal advice. "
Uhm...that IS legal advice. NEXT PLEASE.

anon 256- I'd be more convinced if you would post any action Mr. Wade has taken since becoming committee chairman against the person who authored this flyer.

Sorry, but the same comment could apply to anonymous bloggers and their commenters.
That said, Ben, it's a little irresponsible to put this man's picutre under this title. You're insinuating he wears the hood and that's just uncalled for.
Posted by: Jason | December 31, 2006 at 01:44 PM
Nope, I am insinuating that he is Chair of the Henrico GOP, a group whose OWN MEMBERS now accuses other members of putting on hoods like the KKK. He's the public face of the committee.

I am pretty sure that this is the same person who never lifted a finger for Webb, and who had a Miller sign in his office on election day.
Throw the bums out, all of em.

Putting the letters KKK over a man's picture is a serious charge and a wreckless and irresponsible use of a man's name, image and your own website. If you want to make a point there are better ways to do it. This is ridiculous.

I'm a member of the Henrico committee. I was at the breakfast. I left before the Green-Kaechele incident but I know everyone I talked to at the breakfast was disgusted by the literature.
The person who put it out isn't anonymous anymore. People saw him passing out stuff on the tables and confronted him after the breakfast. He admitted passing it out.
I was also at the next meeting of the Executive Committee. The Executive Committee didn't have the power to act on its own but decided to recommend a resolution to the full committee to ban anonymous lit at the breakfasts as soon for the next meeting after the chairman's election.
I was also at the chairman's election. Immediately after the votes were counted and Mike Wade won, he called an Executive Committee meeting on the spot where the topic of conversation was expelling the person who distributed the lit at the breakfast. Terone Green was there himself and said he didn't want the guy expelled.
The Henrico committee is not racist and Mike Wade is not a member of the KKK. One of our members, Antione Green who is not related to Terone as far as I know, is chairman of Richmond Crusade for Voters. VCU police chief Willie Fuller heads our minority outreach committee.
NLS, you said you posted Mike's picture because he is the public face of the committee but he wasn't chairman when the breakfast happened. His first action was to call an Executive Committee meeting to discuss expelling the person who passed out the lit. The full committee hasn't met yet because of the holidays so what more do you want from him? Take his picture down because it's wrong to associate him with the KKK.
If you want confirmation of my side of the story, email the members of the Executive Committee. You can get the list off our website, henricogop.com.

That's good enough for me Eric, I will take down the pic.

2:21, why are you referring to a Democrat in a GOP thread?
Posted by: | December 31, 2006 at 03:03 PM
Damn, Ben, now you're making it a habit of saying dumb things. You really should work on this problem, because it's making you look downright stupid.
You're giving more credit to the anon Henrico GOPer than the organization as a whole. If this was instead the Henrico Democrats, I have little doubt you'd be bashing the anonymous flyer guy, and crediting the activists who speak out.

Now that Ben has so honorably taken down Mike's picture after implying all weekend that he was a member of the KKK, I think it is clearly time to start discussing the status of Kate and Phil Griffin's marriage.
Or perhaps it is time for a somewhat prominent apology?
