I guess those emails suggesting I invest in pork rinds weren't spam after all.
Chad Dotson couldn't prosecute any cases in Wise because he was tied to everyone on trial. How can he now preside over those cases. Will they have to bring in special judges too?
This is just one more example of how our judicial system has been perverted by the likes of Terry Kilgore and the other goosestepping Republicans in Richmond.

Congratulations to Creigh Deeds for getting his non-partisan redistricting bill out of the Senate 22-18.

Congratulations, Chad!

Yep, YEA to Creigh for getting that bill passed.
And, BOO to Benny Lambert, the only Democrat to oppose Creigh's bill.
Endorsong George Allen, supporting vouchers, being the only "D" to oppose Creigh on the redistricting bill, why doesn't Senator LAmbert just go all the way and officially become a Republican?
Posted by: | January 23, 2007 at 05:16 PM
Lambert was probably one of the only smart dems for opposing this bill. Why? Because if the Dems take back the GA they will be screwed if this bill were passed.

a judicial system "perverted" by Terry Kilgore and the "goosestepping Republicans"?
Talk about the pot calling the kettle black.
They are following the same method of judicial selection that the Virgina Democratic Party used all the many years they were in the majority...and that I am sure they will go back to employing if they regain majority status.

Congrats Chad.
Congrats to Creigh for getting the bill passed. How often do you see Sotlle, Cuccinelli, Janet Howell, and Dick Saslaw on one side while Chichester,
Martin, Obenshain, Newman, O'Brien, Stosch and Norment are on the other?
Anyone know what the deal with Stolle and Cuccinelli flipping is?

As a Democrat I am not upset about Chad Dotson. We created that messed up process, hopefully we can fx it if we get back in power. The best way was the Hunter Andrews method-in his district whoever got the local bar endorsement generally got the judgeship. He took advice from the people who knew the candidates best. Congrats to Chad.

In answer to the first anon post.
Chad prosecuted all sorts of cases in Wise. The only ones he didn't prosecute were the Appalachia cases coming out of a corrupt election. Why couldn't he prosecute those? Because, at the time the Town of Appalachia was paying Chad to prosecute its traffic tickets, trespassing charges and other misdemeanors (every town in Wise has its own prosecutor for misdemeanors). It's a conflict of interest to prosecute a case against someone who is paying you a check (duh) and therefore Chad stepped aside. I think that this means he was excluded from around 20 cases although I never bothered to tally them up. However many it was, it was a miniscule precentage of the cases going to trial in Wise.
As to what he will do about conflicts he has as a judge in Wise - he's been appointed a judge for the 30th Circuit. There are other counties and other judges in this circuit. At first Chad will sit in another county while the misdemeanor cases filed during his time as Commonwealth work their way through the system. Of course, he will be able to sit in Wise to hear civil cases since the Commonwealth has almost no involvement in those types of cases. After about three months (misdemeanors get thru the system pretty quick) he should be able to sit in Wise on criminal matters.

thanks for the clarification, ken. Maybe anon 4:02 will come in and apologize for being an ass, but I doubt it.

Aren't you going to drop your percent for botching that McDonnell Homestead story?

Yeah, Its a real wonder what Joe Wolfe' undocumented millions in political cash to Terry and Jerry Kilgore has done for the careers of the incompetent, untalented and irrelevant Joey Carico as well as party hack Chad Dotson. Joe Wolfe claims to own the state, we now have proof.

You realize of course that Terry and Jerry used their influence to clear their foster care matron Wille Mae of all the felonies they knew she would go down for, and the Judges are personally picked by Willie Mae Kilgore and Joe Wolfe. Wille Mae and Papa Joe have packed every SW VA court with a crony as judge. Look at Carico, who was so incompetent on the bench that Grundy law school graduates were complaining about his performance. Thats pretty bad when "lawyers" in the bottom 5% of the LSAT pool can see that you don't know what you're doing. After only a year on the bench, before he even learned how to confidently preside over a drunk in public charge, Joey Carico is elevated to Circuit Court Judge, probably the fastest transition from lower court to high court in VA history, and the youngest ever. These judges are there to prevent meaningful prosecutions for the endless graft, corruption and election fraud. Hip hip, hurrah.
