Let's remember that the professionals that dedicate themselves to keeping Americans secure asked the son of Sami Al-Arian to leave a meeting at the White House complex in 2001.
Republican candidate Faisal Gill walked out of the meeting in protest and said this:
"Among those who walked out were Mahdi Bray, organizer of the meeting and President of the Coordinating Council of Muslim Organizations, Nedzib Sacirbey and Faisal Gill from the American Muslim Council, and Salam Al-Marayati and Hassan Ibrahim, from MPAC.
They issued a joint statement following the incident: "This incident
is the latest in an unfortunate pattern of exclusion by the Bush
administration."
Faisal will walk out of a high level meeting because White House Security asks someone else to leave?
Does he have no respect for the job they are doing to keep the President safe?
Faisal's problem is not just that he associates himself with people that are thrown out of places for security reasons. It's the disrespect he shows the professionals that are trying to keep us safe from another terrorist attack.
Remember that on Memorial Day.

The loss of Dion is a disaster. He was a controlled-growth Democrat. The party has unfortunately been defined by John Jenkins, Hilda Barg, and other good-ol-boy Democrats whose pockets have been lined by developers. Nichols is no better and is in fact worse. He is a developer himself. Dion would have helped to change that image. Unfortunately, the Jenkins crowd thought it more important to nominate anybody than a gay man than choose someone who was good on the growth issue.

Maybe Dion's withdrawal is a disaster for the Dems, I don't know. I do know that Gill's continued candidacy is a boon for the Dems.
