Dude, perhaps you missed the 18 or so public hearings they had BEFORE they made this the preferred local option several YEARS ago? Apparently everyone was okay with the above-ground route then.

I guess I'm missing something...why is underground so important?? What exactly are we protecting?? Parking lots and office buildings?? Views of the Beltway, Rt 7 and 123?? Frankly an elevated track that connects to the Mall would make more sense. Works for Chicago and other cities.

Then again, do we really expect people to use this thing all the way to the airport?? Isn't that what the airport lanes are for? Maybe electric buses would suffice?
