DEADLINE FOR VIRGINIA PRIMARY BALLOT TODAY
I'M HEARING SOME MAJOR CANDIDATES ARE HAVING TROUBLE GETTING ON THE BALLOT. Deadline is 5 p.m.- I'm expecting a couple big candidates to miss out today.
------------------------------------------------------------
Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee, Ron Paul, Fred Thompson, Rudy Guiliani are on the ballot
John McCain and Duncan Hunter submitted- not sure on numbers and whether they will make it.
Rumors are nothing from Tom Tancredo.
Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are on.
Haven't got info on the rest of the Dems yet.
Who do you predict will miss out?

Romney and Obama qualified weeks ago.

Huckabee, Clinton, and a bunch of others have all been desperately getting sigs this week- Bwana- I'm just going to wait and see. :-)

Huckabee was looking for more paid people as of 4 days ago......could be him.
I think Thompson was close too.

On the GOP side, the only candidates assures a slot are Ron Paul and Mitt Romney. I know Thompson folks have really been scrambling as have Huckabees folks. It would not suprise me if either or both of these campaigns fell short. Rudy may not even have attempted. I have never seen anyone doing Rudy stuff.

Rudy has ways of getting his way through unconventional methods.

Obama had his volunteers doing this all over the state since early fall. He's been done, as someone said, for weeks. I hope that the Party does its part with the 5,000 required by DNC rules for all of them. I wonder if Kucinich or Richardson might be having trouble too? Biden or Dodd?
If Clinton misses getting on the ballot, I'd be shocked. That would be sweet!

GO RON PAUL!!!!

Missing a big state like Virginia is almost criminal.
Dodd just missed New York and New Jersey. I don't know why networks continue to interview him and he continues to pretend he is running.

I received a call from the Richardson campaign as well as an e-mail forward from a friend associated with another campaign, both requesting that the UVA Law Dems help their campaigns with signature collection ... the latter campaign was offering $1.30/signature, so it was obviously someone with money to burn.

I heard Thompson was close to the threshhold about 2 weeks ago.
Clinton's folks will get the signatures, but it may be a photo finish.

I spoke with a Mike Huckabee volunteer who was collecting signatures for the D.C. ballot outside of where I get off the Metro. I told him I was a Virginia resident, so I couldn't sign his papers, but he told me that Huckabee already recieved all the signatures he needs in VA.
So apparently its not Huckabee.

I can't imagine Dodd getting the sigs.

Which campaign is Scott Hanger turning petitions in for this year?

VA Blogger,
The guy you spoke to must be mistaken. I just got back from a grocery store and was asked to sign for Huckabee, they said they are short and have people all over the state today. The guy also said Thompson is way over, almost at Ron Paul type numbers! Today sure will be interesting!

Surely Kucinich is in. We need to see more of that hot redhead of his.

what about the dems - I think Edwards was short a couple of days ago
Posted by: After | December 14, 2007 at 01:01 PM
Edwards was grabbing signatures at JMU as late as Tuesday.

The petition I signed, at FCDC, was one sig for all 8 running on the Democratic side.

Rudy's people were at the polls on election day. One poll I know of had people passing them by and not signing and others just refusing to sign. They left and did not spend the day,

Any news on who filed by the deadline?
