2:17 p.m. Barack Obama has won the Virginia primary.
Republican primary looking strong for John McCain, but I am not calling it until more data is available because of the much lower GOP turnout, and we are not clear yet what kinds of GOP voters are crossing over for Obama.
WOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOO

fannyboy once again delivers...

Don't stop voting, people. If you haven't voted yet, and you support Obama, get out there and vote! I know in sports it ain't right to run up the score and embarass your opponent. But in this race, we need all the delegates we can get before Texas and Ohio!

Is this based on exit polls you have seen? Real numbers?
Posted by: zane | February 12, 2008 at 02:35 PM
NLS - what is the purpose of this posting? Are you trying to depress voter turnout? Clearly the number of delegates involved and their proportional distribution depends on ALL votes cast, not just the ones up until 2:17pm.
For that matter, how can you claim the Obama has won? Not a single vote has been counted, there are no published exit polls (which aren't necessarily reliable anyway), and the only evidence is anecdotal.
The election is over for Hillary, but Obama people should be out there running up the score. Look forward to you being an Obama Man soon enough, Ben....

"what kinds of GOP voters are crossing over for Obama"
Interesting way to end the post. Are you trying to lay the ground work for the lame argument that Hillary lost because of Republicans crossing over to vote for Obama?
Posted by: Not Wayne Rooney | February 12, 2008 at 02:37 PM
Bullshit
Posted by: | February 12, 2008 at 02:39 PM
Oh good grief Ben. You've got a history of undermining campaigns. This one is a classic.
Posted by: | February 12, 2008 at 02:39 PM
If anyone believes this crap, you're an idiot.
Go out and vote for Obama. Every. Vote. Counts.
Posted by: Dan | February 12, 2008 at 02:42 PM
I see alot of people dont believe this.
Seems very plausible to me, the post before this one said the info NLS was getting pointed to an "epic blowout". being able to call it at 2 pm would suggest epic blowout.

I'm guessing I'm not the only one who sees the irony of these back-to-back NLS headlines:
PROJECTED WINNERS
2:17 p.m. Barack Obama has won the Virginia primary.
THE POLLS ARE OPEN UNTIL 7 P.M.
What are you seeing out there?
-------
I'm beginning to see a big, fat, cheating Hillary Campaign Rat....

". . . I am not calling it until more data is available . . ."
You should say data ARE available, not IS available. No wonder you are losing credibility!
Posted by: | February 12, 2008 at 02:48 PM
Anyone who reads this blog voted at 7 AM this morning.
I really don't think many people got out of bed this morning and thought "Gee, I want to vote for Obama but I'll check Tribbet's blog and see if I should bother." The blogosphere just isn't that important folks.

This is setting up for a "Obama doesn't meet expectations" post.

Agree completely with NGB. Nice try, but no cigar, Ben.

NGB: bingo.

UPDATE #4- NLS SHAME. Voters who have watched their cars being towed by Arlington County are now being told that the election is over and their wait in long lines outside polling places was in vain. Civil Rights violation? Voting Rights violation? INVESTIGATION!!!!
Posted by: Interested Observer | February 12, 2008 at 03:16 PM
NGB,
Good call. How big will the font be on the post that says Obama fails to meet expectations?
Posted by: Not Wayne Rooney | February 12, 2008 at 03:23 PM
At least as big as OBAMA COWARD
Posted by: notgretchenbulova | February 12, 2008 at 03:32 PM
I would like to know how many Republicans are voting for Dems this go around. Anyone brave enough to fess up?
Posted by: phriendlyjaime | February 12, 2008 at 03:33 PM
My mom did. She can't stand Hillary and wants to choose between McCain and Obama in November.
Posted by: notgretchenbulova | February 12, 2008 at 03:35 PM
I think that Obama will not win big here. This guy is winning but I know nothing about this guy. The last good speaker we saw was the one how planned 9/11. Be careful people.

I confess, I am one of the GOP Obama voters. I always vote Republican, but I wanted to try to abort Hillary in the first trimester. Since there are no good "Republicans" to vote for in the gop primary, it was a guilty pleasure to vote against Hillary.
Posted by: gopobamavoter | February 12, 2008 at 03:43 PM
Are you seriously an idiot? What's the point of saying that? So you can get a better ego because of your predictions? Every vote counts.
Posted by: | February 12, 2008 at 03:48 PM
Every Republican I know if voting for Hillary, knowing they're in trouble if they have to run against Obama. Hillary's a sure loser.
