CREEPY OLD GUY COMING TO BLACKSBURG!!!
The Virginia Young Democrats convention is coming up this weekend! Every year at the Virginia Young Democrats Convention there are a few older attendees who, while technically not above the age limit, give off the vibe of 35 year old at a Hannah Montana concert. They’re not unwelcome… but they’re about as welcome as that lonely alumni trolling a college bar after a football game. You don’t want to tell them to leave – but you really don’t want them to stay either.
The person pictured above is doubly applicable – and since the convention is this weekend I wanted to give you all fair warning. He’s creepy because he’s both an aged member of the Arlington Young Democrats AND he’s a creepy alumnus of Virginia Tech returning to his alma mater to reminisce about his days of college glory – or something sad like that. His name is Brian Devine, and if he tells you he has puppies or candy in his car – it’s a trick.
Here are a few things that make him old and/or creepy:
* He has been out of college for like 5 years
* He tries to be cool by writing a blog
* He gets mad when college students reject his Facebook friend requests
* He has tried more than 3 online dating services
* He has never missed an episode of the Hills or A Shot At Love With Tila Tequila
and worst of all ... He loves Dane Cook.
I could continue the list, but this is a family blog and frankly – don’t have the space. If you happen to run into him pretend not to know who he is, kindly nod at what he says and then slowly turn away. And just to keep this interesting – NLS will post the funniest picture and/or story featuring Brian Devine from this weekend. So try not to laugh when you see him – just lead him on long enough to snap a funny pic and send it in.

The thing is - not all of Ben's readers know who his friends are.
The problem with blogs is that many people will take this posting seriously.
Ben, if this is truly your friend, I'd take down this post. Because their are now web sites out their that link to articles like this so you can find out about your potential employees/dates and they will not think this is a joke.
If this is your friend, you might be hurting his future for a while.

"but they’re about as welcome as that lonely alumni trolling a college bar after a football game"
The singular of "alumni" is alumnus(m) or alumna(f). Put that education of yours to work, smart guy.

Won't somebody PLEASE think about the children?

Ugh, Dane Cook is so overrated.

I could repeat verbatim a comment I left on another blog recently: Satire, people! Satire!
Nobody understand that fine art anymore? It doesn't have to sound sarcastic to be satire you know. You just have to recognize when something is intentionally absurd.

Well, people should be particularly careful around Republican Sam Rasoul.
