He skipped the first debate for the 11th District.
Even better was his excuse- he was hosting an international delegation at the exact same time! Yeeeeaaaahhhhh right.... does the press check out any of this crap?

More importantly, do you check anything out before throwing it out there? You're disgusting. This whole "series" is disgusting. Right out of the Hillary/Rove playbook -- tear apart the party with sh*t "facts" as you perceive them.
You're a joke. Democrats are better than this.
You may disagree with people, but don't be a jerk. Democrats are better than this.
If you're going to continue with this blog, you better learn some ethics...and fast. Democrats are better than this.

What's disgusting is Gerry Connolly skipping the voters of the 11th District.

How bad were Ms. Byrne's polls? They must have been pretty bad. My prediction Ben posts one Gerry sucks diary for every point she is trailing him.

This series is going to 64- then we will start "May Madness" where people can vote round by round until we have a champion of Gerry incompetence.

I am still firmly in the Byrne camp, but what is the deal with all of these baseless attacks? Is she behind this at all? If so, its truly sad. He didn't "skip" the debate - he had another commitment (in his official capacity that WE elected him to) and could not make it. But he will attend future ones. So why the misleading post? I don't get why Byrne has lowered herself to this level, or if its not her, why one of her supporters thinks this is going to help. There are real issues to discuss and debate, but it is not productive at all to make accusations that are at best baseless and seem to demonstrate a certain recklessness for the truth.

Ben,
Not all of us have our interests centered in the 11th. Some of us have concern about statewide races for '09, municipal races in May (like in the Roanoke Valley, an area important to statewide and other races), and to the other house races (like the 5th district).
And of course...there's the question of who's going to lose against Mark Warner in November!

Rolling, there is nothing in his job about dealing with international delegations that he schedules during debates so he doesn't have to attend them. In fact- Gerry is a big advocate for spending for an agency in the county government on economic development- we are paying people to take them around and set up meetings. I'm sure if he wanted to debate, he could have found another Supervisor who could have taken the "delegation" around.

When are we going to hear about Gerry taking money from the Safa Group this report?
Posted by: | April 24, 2008 at 08:16 AM
Does Leslie Byrne read and/or aprove of these posts?
And if this "Connolly sucks" stuff is going to round 64, as you say, what does this say about you? After all, you voted for him (possibly twice)!

Speaking of things international, here is a real issue that involves Ben AND Gerry:

Someone's reproductive organs are melted ice cream? LOL

Why is anyone surprised he didn't go? Smart campaigners know if you can't say anything smart, don't say anything at all.

You did not address my questions - why is Bryne signing off on these baseless attacks? Also, try getting information before making claims. Call his office and inquire about his other commitment - its totally legit. But now you are blaming him for spending on economic development? Do you have something against the government successfully generating revenue that increases our quality of life and reduces taxes?
