#1 in Pedestrian Fatalities in the Washington Region.
Not a big shocker coming from Fairfax County where we will soon be building an elevated rail track through Tysons Corner...
Please don't ever say Gerry Connolly can't make Fairfax #1 again...
(Gerry Sucks, Part 35).
So he gets credit for things like this in Fairfax....Does that mean he gets credit for everything that happens in Fairfax?
I thought you said differently a few posts ago?

Evan Bayh is awful. Doesn't Evan Bayh absolutely stink. What a worthless clinton supporter. He has zero charisma. Absolutely no personality. Never had a private sector job. Spoon fed son of a senator. he's awful. senator clinton should keep him off the tube.

Randy, if you spent less time dabbling in politics, I bet your ERA would go back down again.

Yes, Ben, Gerry has single-handedly made Fairfax unsafe for walkers. Yes, he has killed them. Very very sad. Shocking that a murderer would run for elected office.
Another day, another entry, yet no reasons why we should vote for Ms. Byrne. Guess you and she are not interested in telling us anything positive about the issues.

Ben was going to make this a 64-part series, but it will be extended because Joey wants "69."

Ahh, so wouldn't elevated tracks for metro in Tysons actually make the streets safer for pedestrians?? Hard to get hit when the train is above your head...
Posted by: Donkey Breath | May 01, 2008 at 08:17 AM
Donkey- are you serious? After they get off the train they will have to go to street level to walk around. Have you ever tried to stroll around Tysons Corner?!?!

So then, is the answer no rail in Tysons? Doesn't strike me as a particularly good plan.
Posted by: Not Ben | May 01, 2008 at 09:24 AM
The answer is underground rail.
Posted by: Not Larry Sabato | May 01, 2008 at 09:48 AM
So if there's underground rail, they won't walk around on the street? What are they going to do, hang out in the tunnel? The SAIC, Booz Allen Hamilton, Capital One, Deloitte & Touche, Ernst & Young, and MicroStrategy higher-ups are gonna be PISSED.
Still, it would be kinda funny to see the short-sleeve and clip-on tie office slaves loitering on Metro's comfortable concrete benches.

What? Is Gerry pushing pedestrians into traffic?
Posted by: James Young | May 01, 2008 at 10:53 AM
Yes, he is.

In the tunnel plan, there will be no actual exits to the street. While this may seem nonsensical to some, advocates of a Tysons Tunnel ("not over till it's under!") believe not allowing people to ever exit the Metro station will prevent unnecessary Gerry Connolly induced pedestrian deaths. In an elevated track plan, of course, Metro riders would be required to run across multiple lanes of traffic. Right?
