FIMIAN BRINGS IN HIT MAN
Wow, the race in the 11th is going to be a lot more serious than I thought.
Keith Fimian has just brought in Zack Condry as Campaign Manager. Zack ran John Frey's campaign in 2007, the only countywide Republican to survive the Connolly-led sweep.
How did Zack win when no one else did? One of the most vicious campaigns I have ever seen. (That's a compliment by the way). First running against David Harris Miller, Zack swept the Scientology Lobbyist out of the race by finding back taxes owed in Delaware. Not content with destroying one candidate that cycle, when Democrats nominated Dale Evans, brutal attacks began surfacing from his time as an elected official in Flint, Michigan. By the time the dust settled, and aided by a 15% victory in the Fairfax portion of the 11th District, John Frey was re-elected, and his hit man left the state.
Now Zack is back, and with Gerry Connolly has a lot more material to work with, along with a big budget from the self funding Fimian. This race could get interesting fast.
The timing is also interesting here, a week after the Democratic Primary. Could Zack have been avoiding this race if the squeeky clean Leslie Byrne had emerged as the nominee? I guess we will never know.
BRING ON THE TV ADS!

I don't think Gerry has to lose too much sleep.
This guy signed on with a candidate for Congress in NH this year and is already gone before the Congressional primary up there. Maybe it had to do with his candidate's website not being updated since May.
He also worked for a loser when Ernest Istook got crushed for Governor of Oklahoma. Other than Frey has this guy had a winner?
With all of Fimian's money, the best he could do was hire some third-stringer to run the show? And what happened to the last loser Fimian had managing the campaign, Travis Smith of the Chris Yakabouski for Senate juggernaut? Did he already flame out and get canned, did he quit or was he just demoted?

Frey was going to win regardless. Sully is where Cuccinelli was able to get such mega majorities that he beat Janet despite winning only 13 of 38 precincts.

So Ben, are you going to be feeding Zack some juicy material?

D4D- wrong Frey- Zack's guy ran countywide for Clerk of the Court. No relation to the Supervisor.

Speaking of campaign staff, get a load of this story about Sam Rasoul: http://www.roanoke.com/politics/wb/166465
He just can't stop changing his campaign management, can he?
I wonder how many managers he'll go through by November. Anyone care to make a wager?

The blood of slaughtered unborn babies has soiled her halo

I am quite glad Travis Smith is gone. He wasn't leading the campaign anywhere - and it was obvious that they needed to bring in someone with experience...I'm excited!!

db,
I certainly hope you don't mean "excited" as in chris matthews feeling for obama and getting a "tingle up your leg" when you hear this guy speak....lol

Ben is happy, and doesn't need those little pills for a while.
Once again Ben can work with republicans and give them his fake blog comments to beat up democratic progressives.

I'm not sure if you know this or not, but that blood which soiled her halo will probably come out in the wash if she pre-treats it with Shout or something. I saw that on a commercial.

Ben, the republicans are laughing about you offering to be Fimian's campaign manager against Connolly.
When the republicans tell you to get lost, you have hit rock bottom.

I think people give these "campaign managers" too much credit when all they do is execute instructions given to them by political consultants.

Ben, get over it, the evil witch Leslie and her dweeb husband Larry lost to a much better candidate. Gerry will beat the right wing extremist by, say 58-42, a mere 16 points. Ben, please sign on to Fimian's campaign so we can win 65-35.

Hey Ben. Thought it was interesting if unreported on the Blogs that the official results of the 11th District Primary matched almost exactly the results of the FCDC JJ Dinner Straw Poll taken shortly before the Primary. You remember that straw poll that was trashed by you and others as not being legit or accurate?
JJ Poll Primary
Gerry 57% Gerry 57.9%
Leslie 34% Leslie 33.3%
Doug 7% Doug 6.1%
Lori 1% Lori 2.5%
How's that for 99.9% accurate?!

Zach Condry was fired by the Jennifer Horn campaign because the supposed front-runner's campaign was floundering.
Condry's abrasive treatment of NH activists led to a humiliating incident at the NH Ronald Reagan Dinner where Horn's opponents were asked to speak to a packed house of conservatives while Horn sat in the audience and stewed before storming out. Horn has attracted minimal conservative support since a March Politico interview in which she expressed support for civil unions and gun locks.
Condry was clueless as to how to run a campaign in NH, yet thought he was a know-it-all. At the same time, he and his GC were bleeding the campaign dry. Good riddence.
