Weather Report: Today: Scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 3pm.
Some storms could be severe, with large hail and damaging winds. Partly
sunny and hot, with a high near 100. Heat index values as high as 105.
Southwest wind between 5 and 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New
rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts
possible in thunderstorms.
Which candidate has voters that will vote in a hailstorm for them?
GO LESLIE!!!!

I agree wholeheartedly with this post. Leslie voters will get out (this means you reading this!), and Connolly voters are less likely. Go, go, go!!!

WHY WON'T TIM KAINE CALL ON CAPTAIN PLANET TO FIGHT THIS HAILSTORM SO THAT PEOPLE CAN VOTE? THIS IS AN OUTRAGE

That's the spirit anon 1140!!!

Captain Planet fights meteors and comets and such, you need Kaine to call Jim Santore. He can stop hail.

I bet Ben caused the hail storm with some device in his parents basement, to impact voter turnout. Shameless...

This is a plot by the Jews to cause Leslie's voters to suffer from heat stroke.

Damn 11:40 stole my idea.
"Will Tim Kaine extend voting hours for Byrne voters until next Tuesday to make up for this miscarriage of justice?"
:)

Any word on the effect that the Republican's "Operation Chaos" is having today?
Will they tip the balance to Leslie and ensure a Fimian win this fall?

Just voted at Lake Braddock / Signal Hill. At 1pm, I was number 109. That means between 9am and 1pm there were 58 voters. Not a big number, but not much of a falloff from 6-9 am, either.

Oops! I was #109 at the Lake Braddock table. Undoubtedly, there had been voters at the Signal Hill table between 9 and 1. So, oddly, there were probably more people between 9 and 1 than between 6 and 9. And while I still didn't see reps for any non-Byrne candidates, there was no Byrne rep scheduled or seen between 9 and 1. I hope the 1 to 7 shift people show.

Joel, do you honestly think there will be a decent number of undecideds showing up today? I'd rather take the people working the exterior of the polls and use them to call ID'd supporters to make sure they vote today. One person inside is all you should need.

What I want to know is: Who will NLS support if Byrne loses today? :)
Posted by: TJ's Ghost | June 10, 2008 at 01:35 PM
I was thinking along the same lines as Not Ben. I wanted to go help Leslie, but between working and studying for LSATs I wasn't able to take off. I was thinking about '06 standing at Lake Braddock for Hurst in the primary--that race, you could make a difference since so many people were voting for the Senate race that didn't necessarily know about the Congressional primary. This year, though, I hope people are going to the polls with some idea of what is going on.
Frustratingly enough, the Connolly people have been at the metro the past couple days--they are still handing out that awful lit piece with the NOW logo on it. I feel like at this point, that is really attempting to mislead voters.

Its confirmed- Leslie's support is confined to the internet!

The NLS suicide watch is offficially underway. More importantly, Leslie was seen at the Virginia Employment Commission looking for a real job (her first ever).

NotBen and Aimee, I definitely agree that if you had only person to allocate today between standing outside the polling place and making calls, you gotta go with the phone caller. Maybe Byrne's campaign had a surplus of volunteers, because I let them tell me what to do today, and they said to stand outside Lake Braddock from 6-9.
Posted by: Joel Rutstein | June 10, 2008 at 01:45 PM
Joel,
Do you know if they had a volunteer on the inside, checking off the names of supporters who voted?
Posted by: Not Ben | June 10, 2008 at 01:52 PM
Not Ben, I'm pretty sure they didn't. Even for the 6-9 am shift that they wanted me to cover, someone with the campaign HQ told me last night that, though we could sit inside and observe, it probably wasn't necessary, and they'd rather have me outside handing out lit with only a pop-in at the end of the shift to get a total vote count and phone it in, which we did.
