Aren't they all just purple states? Or polka dotted? Can't we all just get along, like Ben with those Philly Phans?
Posted by: Doug | October 31, 2008 at 11:04 AM
They need to get on back to San Francisco.

I really think VA will stay Republican this year. We forget that recent democratic victories have come from moderates who run relatively conservative statewide campaigns. I think the polls are over-sampling NoVA. While recognizing that VA has moved along the political spectrum, we aren't even close to electing a socialist president yet.

" While recognizing that VA has moved along the political spectrum, we aren't even close to electing a socialist president yet."
I think you're right about that. Socialist Party candidate Brian Moore doesn't stand a chance.

Whether its Obama or McCain, it's a Socialist. Bailout? Buying mortgages and banks?
Oh c'mon.
As for me, I ALWAYS prefer Democrat Socialists, to Republican. It's far easier to mobilize against the former, and darned near impossible against the latter (cf Bailout and Medicare expansion and No Child Left Behind and ... oh, you get it).
best regards

"Socialist Party candidate Brian Moore doesn't stand a chance."
Don't be so hasty. I really think that these polls are undersampling the huge pockets of Socialism in places like Danville, Culpeper, Wytheville, and Bristol. On top of that, everyone knows that the capitalist media has a profound anti-Socialist bias, and it wouldn't surprise me if the actual poll results are being suppressed. Having said that, I look forward to massive Socialist turnout on Tuesday that will finally turn Virginia into a red state. I mean, a REALLY red state.

I just love that now democrats are called socialists.
When republicans are out of ideas and out of luck, they just bring out the "sticks and stones."

The "Socialist" meme sure has worked well. I mean, we're just panicked over it. So panicked we're about to turn Arizona blue.
SMELL the panic!

What else would you call someone who favors socialized medicine and redistribution (er, "sharing) wealth?
The word is socialism.

Damn Teddy Roosevelt to the reddest hell in this universe for subjecting us to 100 years of evil socialism! It has utterly, and finally destroyed us!!

Doug you Socialist Marxist/Fascist libs are going to be crying on election night.
McCain will pull off a stunning upset due to 1)women upset at the sexist treatment of Palin, and 2)turnout in rural areas.
Posted by: | October 31, 2008 at 08:45 PM
Suck it libs, your socialist messiah is goin dooooooown!
Communist Fascist Liberals!

I don't understand why those on the left have such a problem with using the proper words to describe their views.
First they wanted to change “liberal” to progressive, because liberal sounded to descriptive. Now they want to run away from the word socialism or socialist. If the definition of the word fits with ones philosophy why not embrace it proudly. If you have to run away from it and be ashamed then maybe that shows it is not the right thing to believe in the first place.

8:48 PM don't talk about your sex life, here, you bi. You are a sick individual... first you talk about your sex life with sheep, then lems, that you ask libs to suck it? After where you've been, is there any living organism that would want to be with you?
Posted by: | November 01, 2008 at 01:14 AM

A republican president nationalizes the banks and the democrats are the socialists......the irony is just awesome

"See latest numbers from Zogby!!!!!"
Obama +5 yesterday and +6 today. They look pretty good to me.
Maybe you should stop paying attention to Drudge when he cherry-picks outlier numbers from the middle of a multiple-day tracking poll.

I was sure Obama would win VA, but now I'm not so sure given the release of that tape saying he'd bankrupt the coal industry. And this:
"You know, when I was asked earlier about the issue of coal, uh, you know — Under my plan of a cap and trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket."
http://hotair.com/archives/2008/11/02/obama-ill-make-energy-prices-skyrocket/
The RNC is robocalling this energy stuff right now, says Jake Tapper.

Obama 86.9
McCain 13.0
"Eh", you should really bet money. If you are correct, you could make a fortune!
