I nominate her for worst 2009 statewide candidate/campaign - even Mac is better than Jody.

This begs the question, can we even trust her financial numbers here in a few days? She might misplace a comma here or a decimal there. Idiot.....

Another example of how incompetent she really is. As Secretary of Finance she was a joke and now as a candidate for LG.
Go back to the popcorn, Jody.

Wow, it looks like Jon Bowerbank's campaign staff showed up on this blog.
Posted by: John | December 31, 2008 at 02:43 PM
Yeah, why wait for facts? I called the campaign, and they made a typo.
That should be good for at least a couple of days hand-wringing among those who will find fault in anything.
Why wait to find out? Just tear someone down.
And some of the same anonymous commenters seem to have shown up over at Bryan's.
Good luck with all that flailing, everyone. And happy new year!

An entire topic about a typo? What's next, a story about how she mixed up her kids' names one time during dinner?

Typo? That's a convenient assumption, Pete. Face it, either Wagner or her campaign staff are too stupid to know when Bolling took office.
But hey, more power to ya. I hope she gets to square off against Bolling, so she can be bitchslapped as bad as Leslie Byrne was in 2005.

Ben and Brian need to get a grip. Its a typo!
Their candidate for LG repeatedly referred to his own kids as terrorists at the most recent FCDC meeting. It was a lame attempt at both humor and an apology for his kids moving around West Springfield High School that night. As the father of 4, I thought his kids were very well behaved and his comment demonstrated a candidate not ready for a state wide campaign. But hardly worthy repeated posting on two separate blogs.
Bowerbank's comments did not go over well. He said nothing about the issues of Fairfax. He didn't even bring a sign up sheet for volunteers.
I don't understand Ben and Brian's fascination with this guy.
Everyone that I know who has met them both has said that Jody is clearly the stronger candidate to take on Bolling in the fall.

Just wanted to point out an update that I made on my post:
It looks like this post has touched a bone with Jody's supporters because I have received a number of rather interesting emails from them, the tamest of which claim I "don't have any credibility" and "should stop blogging immediately." I find it very ironic that these emailers believe I "don't have any credibility" but still feel the need to write me extremely long emails.
A few of the emails have said that I have "lost my mind" if I think her experience in the Kaine and Warner Administrations is a bad thing. This is what I want to address in this update.
I have never claimed that Jody's experience is a bad thing. What I was trying to emphasize in this post was the fact that in most of her communications with her press list and general email list, Wagner has stressed her previous service. This would be a great way to build up credibility, but it's my opinion that she has failed to tell us what she individually did during that service to qualify her to be Lt. Governor. In other words, she needs to put forward concrete things she's gained during that time and why that would make her a better LG. If she begins to do that in the future, I will be highlighting it on this blog. If she doesn't, it simply proves that the sentiment behind this post was correct.

Shifting the burden of proof is an old and lame trick.
Keeping Virginia's bond rating at AAA is a notable and sufficient achievement for anyone running state-wide.
What has Bowerback done as a County Supervisor of an extremely small rural county to recommend him to the people of NoVa?
[crickets]
When he had the chance to answer that question at FCDC, he came up embarrassingly short.
Unless he's got a better answer and has raised a boatload of money, it's time to put out the fire, call in the dogs and go home as the far more qualified Mr. Cranwell recently decided.
The D's don't need a primary for all three state-wide offices.

So are you claiming it's a dirty political trick to claim Jody should have to prove she's qualified for the job?
As can be seen by the fact that I have written positive posts about both candidates and also raised questions about both, I would argue that both candidates have good qualities but still have room for improvement. Having a primary allows an open debate about which candidate is better and also allows the campaigns to develop their message and prove that they have a good candidate.
