Well, there's only one campaign in Fairfax County that is doing real GOTV for this race....and it isn't Herrity's...

Left of the Hill

I'm going to be out of town on Tuesday so I've already cast my ballot for Sharon. I know the Bulova campaign has been letting people know about absentee voting, so I imagine many people who meet the qualifications have already cast a ballot in the race.

Furthermore, most people realize the importance of keeping the chairmanship in the hands of competent leadership and are willing to make a short trip out to the polls in order to ensure the correct person is elected.

DIMV, what are you babbling about now?

Cornelius

At least Tom Davis knows that, while in prison, its best to keep one's back to the wall...

Cornelius

This is a picture of Gerry looking lovingly at his first visitor in prison... Ben T.

First one was a lot better.

Wait, rain is a referendum on Gerry? Idiot

Who is this guy.

What about "Pay to Play Spruill" who doles out gift cards from lobbyist like their water? Spruill is Virginia's Blogo...He will take down the entire DPVA with his corruptness. Time to move to Spruill NLS.

Bottom line

So Ben, does the picture in your post imply that you are advising your parents to vote for Herrity?

Not John S. Mosby

Ben,

Have you joined the RPV yet? You may as well, with the continued attacks on Kaine and Connolly, I don't think you'll be getting much help from Democrats going forward.

Doug in Mount Vernon

NJSM,

Ummmm, yeah, but you're only two years late to that dance....

Chris

That is the single greatest picture I have ever seen put on any blog. Just priceless.

Not John S. Mosby

Doug,

Yeah, I know, Ben definitely jumped the shark with Macacagate, it's been all downhill since then.

Loudoun Insider

This is hilarious. I can't believe all you Dem robots and your blind support of a cretin like Connolly. Ben is doing his party a favor by distancing himself from such a blowhard.

Dan

Loudoun Insider,

Are you a big fan of Leslie Byrne too? You do realize that Ben's endless stream of over the top anti-Connolly and anti-Kaine posts are due to their having the gall to oppose her in the 11th CD primary.

I truly wanted to see Leslie win that primary but Ben's derangement on this subject went beyond tiresome long ago.

I just hope that if she decides to run for office again people don't hold this silliness against her.

Loudoun Insider

Dan, Ben has been ragging on Gerry Connolly (to his credit) for a long time prior to that primary. He knows an obnoxious blowhard when he sees one.

Oh please...in my precinct in Fairfax, this means LOTS of Democrats, because the oldest people who won't try to traverse snow are Republicans...so pray for snow!

not a blind robot

Friends and neighbors thought the Herrity sign in my yard was vandelism, but there's no way this dem will vote for Bullova. Support for pulic housing for people who earn 99K and elementary students at the bus stop before dawn with schools letting out during rush hour lost my vote and many, many others.

Not John S. Mosby

Wow, kids waiting at a bus stop before dawn? Is Sharon responsible for winter or something? Can she control the tilt of the globe so that the sun is always up by the time your spawn go to school?

Give me a fucking break.

F you, Bulova is gonna win. I've already driven 10 people to the government center to vote for her absentee and I'm going to vote along with my family on Tuesday no matter what. No one is going to go vote for some dumb guy who's been on the board for only a year and has actually sued the county before.

Who cares? Even if Herrity wins the Democrats can just take away his power especially since they will still have a 7-3 majority on the board!

How are you even credible anymore? You're the same dumb ass who predicted that Charniele Herring would win by a landslide the day of her election at like 2 PM. We all know how shitty your predictions are now.

I think it's pretty clear that 2:21 through 2:25 are the same person.

not blind robot

5 year olds at the bus stop before dawn, not teenagers, so that the high schoolers can sleep late. That's not "real" that's irresponsible. Pushing school dismissal back an hour to allow for teens to stay up late which will result in school busses on the roads during NoVA rush hour. The point is, Bullova supports wacky policy and if dems would start regecting left wing-nuts we may just attract better candidates one day. eg: Albo ran unopposed in a year when we could have finally been rid of him. But alas, there's no point in debateing anon F word wusses.

NoVA Voter

So the people of Fairfax County, who overwhelmingly elected Gerry Connolly to represent them in the US House less than three months ago and who elected him Chairman with more than 60% fourteen months ago are going to rise up in righteous anger and trash nice and boring Sharon Bulova because of Gerry?

Sharon might not won, but it won't be Connolly who did it. Let's not forget that Herrity is running ok his dad's name, he hasn't actually done anything himself.

Of course, he's done more with his life than Ben Tribbett.

Not Larry Sabato

I think the Blagovich stuff in December (after Gerry won) totally changed how people view pay-to-play politics. Gerry wouldn't win if the election were today. And Sharon may not either because of his shadow.

Not John S. Mosby

Benny Benny Benny, pay-to-play politics? You desperately need to eat more bran and get laid more often. You're becoming delusional if you think that voters will associate Connolly with Blago. I'm sure that's crossed the minds of about 2 voters in NoVA, and I'm not sure if either you or Lowell are still registered in Fairfax County.

Not John S. Mosby

Robot,

My post wasn't anonymous, my handle was on it.

Now, you seem to be stating that it's unfair that elementary kids are standing in the dark while high school kids go an hour later. That causes buses to run during rush hour. Now, which do you have an issue with, the kids in the dark or running buses during evening rush hour? Should all schools be pushed back so that no one stands in the dark in the winter but more buses are running in the evening? Should they all stay on the old clock where all kids are standing around in the dark? Please resolve these very conflicting complaints.

jestcheckin

Got one more hour to vote in person absentee. Poor weather will be a major factor on turn-out. Keep scooping up voters and take them to the polls..guess that should be a twitter tatter.

NNLS

The bus issue has nothing to do with Sharon. That's the School Board and its own elected officials.

Ben, you're not a Democrat. Not one posting talking about Bulova's credentials. She's not Gerry. She's her own candidate with her own record. She's nothing like him personally so to connect to two is just plain lousy. But, that's to be expected from a recently-fired employee of New Media Strategies who has nothing else to do with his time than hate Gerry and Kaine.

Real Dems, let's be careful of the "Herrity's only been in office one year line." We seemed to use that for President Obama.

Who would have thought?

Voters Deserve Answers Now!
What is SEIU Buying with a $50,000 Contribution to Sharon Bulova?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
First
there were news reports about SEIU's involvement with disgraced former Illinois
Governor Blagojevich. Then there were
reports about the president of SEIU's Los Angeles local being fired for
allegedly funneling money to his relatives and friends. Now we find out that Sharon
Bulova just received [http://rs6.net/tn.jsp?t=8mfnexcab.0.0.m8p86ncab.0&p=http%3A%2F%2Fvpap.org%2Fcandidates%2Fprofile%2Fhome%2F53278&id=preview]a
$50,000 contribution from SEIU - an
unprecedented amount in a local Fairfax election.
"I
think this contribution raises serious questions. Why did SEIU give her the
largest single contribution in the history of Fairfax County chairman
elections? What political promises were made when the SEIU contributed this
unprecedented amount to a local election? What policy changes did Bulova
promise to the SEIU? Voters have a right to know," said Anthony Bedell
Chairman of the Fairfax County Republican Committee.
The contribution continues a
troubling trend of contributions to Bulova from groups outside Fairfax
County and national union interests. The Teamsters, United Sheet
Metal Workers, the Laborers Mid-Atlantic Organizing Coalition and the public
service unions already operating in Fairfax all have contributed to Sharon
Bulova. SEIU's own press
release said it contributed to Bulova because she opposed the
crackdown on illegal immigration in Prince William County.
"The first order of business
for the winner of this race will be to address a $650 million shortfall in the
Fairfax County budget," said Bedell. "We've seen what the
unions have done to Detroit and the car industry. You would think currying favor
with labor
unions be the last thing on Sharon Bulova's mind. That is why we have a
right to know what strings are attached to such a large political contribution
from a controversial political labor union such as SEIU."
"Why did Supervisor Bulova
accept the donation? The answer is clear...
Bulova's message isn't resonating. In
desperation, she has turned to the SEIU and these other national labor
unions for help. Not only are they trying to buy the election for Bulova, they
also are busing in union members from outside Virginia to help Sharon Bulova.
It seems Sharon Bulova will stop at nothing, even selling out Fairfax County to
labor unions, to become Chairman," said Bedell.
"More than 90 percent
of Pat Herrity's political contributions and support come from inside
Fairfax County. Pat is clearly supported by the working men and
women and small business owners in Fairfax." Bedell
said. "If Fairfax County voters want an independent chairman who
knows and represents their interests there is no choice but to vote for
Pat Herrity on Feb. 3."
Bedell
concluded, "With so little time until Tuesday, the public deserves an answer
and the media needs to make sure the union bosses don't steal this election."
Paid for and Authorized by the Fairfax County Republican Committee
Lets see, for Tuesday, snow showers without accumulation, high of 34. Ok, not balmy, but is that a weather forecast that will keep people from voting?
Not John S. Mosby
Why did SEIU give to Sharon? Because they had the money and there aren't many elections this time of the year.
Why didn't Pat raise big chunks of dough? Oh yeah, because no group gives a shit enough to give him one.
Republicans hate being beaten at their own game. It seems to be ok for them to rake in millions in contributions from big oil, the banks, that sort of thing. But the minute Democrats start raising lots of dough, suddenly it's all illegal contributions and shady dealings.
I'm just really happy that a majority of Americans - and certainly a majority in Fairfax - are no longer accepting Republican bullshit.
Hey, Herrity accepted money from the Republican Party, and I don't know of any other special interest group that has done so much damage to this country and the world in the last 8 years than that crew.
Bulova will still win due to the partisan tilt of the county but she shouldn't
I went to vote absentee and Herrity was there greeting voters. Very smart, Bulova was nowhere to be found.
I really wish there were more independents in Fairfax but the D base is bigger than the R base so Sharon the non-substantive placeholder will win
College Ex-Pat
1) Parents of elementary school students often take their children to the bus stop and wait with them anyway. I mean, in my neighborhood they even drove them to the bus stop in their SUVs and waited in the car until the bus came. That's what you get when the average yearly income in your county is about $100 grand, I guess...
2) I just voted absentee for Sharon :-) Just wanted y'all to know that I will not be responsible for low turnout.
P.S. Ben did I miss you at the FCDC inaugural ball? I dressed up all fashionably in the hope that I would win best-dressed and then I didn't see you.
Hey Not John, according to the FCDC, Pat has raised over $164K since the beginning of January.
http://fairfaxdemocrats.org/?p=960
You may want to check with them and get your talking points straight first before you look like an uninformed buffoon.
Not John S. Mosby
7:51 - was any of that in $50K chunks? Damn, the problem with trying to debate with Republicans these days is that, since they've run all the intellectuals out of the party, not a damn one of them can pass an English Comprehension class.
"Why didn't Pat raise big chunks of dough?" See, big emphasis on the nouns and adjectives is needed to parse this very complicated sentence.
Let me restate, for Republicans: Herrity is raising a good amount of cash, but no huge contributions. Bulova is raising a good amount of cash, some of it from huge contributions. Like SEIU. I did not state what one was raising money and the other wasn't, or who's even raising the most. My comment was about large contributions, and how Republicans are bleating like freshly-shorn sheep about it when, if a conservative group had dropped Herrity 50 grand, they would be talking it up as evidence of their momentum and strength.
Not John:
You're awfully angry for someone who doesn't write well enough to convey his message clearly the first time around.
Not John S. Mosby
I'll try and remember to write at a 5th-grade level. Actually, scratch that, let's call it a Republican level.
Sharon get big donation. Pat no get big donation. Republicans angry he no get big donation. They no like when Democrats get big donation.
It should be "Sharon received* a big donation", not "Sharon get big donation". Where on Earth did you learn to write?
Shannon
When I went to vote, a Fairfax County police car was in the 7/11 parking lot, which was full of illegal aliens.
Maybe Bulova will knock some sense into the heads of the two dingdongs, Morrogh an Rohrer. Rohrer, in particular, needs to lose his obsession with fancy toys.
Ding How
It's funny that Pat was trying to portray SEIU as buying "Bulova" but was begging for SEIU's endorsement only days before. SEIU has 5000 members in VA yet Pat was taking cash from Bob McDonnel who takes money from Microsoft. Is Microsoft demanding Virginians drive Volvos, drink Lattes and buy Wiis? You should investigate!
