This needs to be investigated. If true, Speaker Howell must fire this woman. If untrue, she should sue whoever is sending around this email.
I'm reporting this in hopes of getting to the truth either way:
"Hello. My name is Tanya Smith and I am a concerned citizen contacting you with a issue I think is of great importance. It is concerning the behavior of someone I believe to work for the General Assembly. I had had a family emergency at MCV downtown and had to stay up quite late with family members young and old. As we left the hospital about 3 am Saturday night, we decided to eat at one of the local restaurants in downtown Richmond. We chose the Third Street Diner.
As we ate, two drunken girls came into the diner and made a disturbance. The girls were white, tall, and slender. They said they were celebrating a birthday and one in the blue dress exposed her breasts to a male. They were each also very drunk. Somehow, they got into a verbal feud with 4 African American ladies sitting at the bar, over the last bar stool. I did not care about this.
What happened next very much concerned me. The white girl with a blue shiny dress got into the face of the african american lady and said, "I work for the fucking speaker of the house of delegates and I'll have your black ass put in jail, do you have any fucking idea who I am, I am alexis feldt" (or alexus felt- I am not sure- but it sounded like felt with a d on the end). I could not believe this behavior. The african american ladies tried to turn away and the white girl said, "Fuck these 'blacks' (except she didn't use the term black- she used the n work). Alot of people stood up thinking a fight was going to happen, and one of the young teens at my families table next to mine took a phone video of the whole thing, if you would like to see it. I am of mixed heritage so when racial slurs are used I am very offended. My 6 year old child then asked me out loud what a (n word) was. It was very awkward and terrible to say the least. Imagine what you do, and how you would feel, if after a long night of being on pins and needles at the hospital with a very sick loved one, you try to take your family to get a bite to eat, and end up exposing your child to the work "nigger". I was very upset.
The male manager of the diner intervened, and managed to seperate the white girl from the group of african american ladies before anything else happened. The white girls then were seated at the table next to mine where I heard them drunkenly go on and on about "black people" (they used the n word) multiple times. As a parent I wanted to ask them to stop using that word.
I am contacting the general assembly so that you can find out if this person does indeed work for you, and if they do, it is my hope they are disciplined appropriately. I am not so much concerned this person was drunk in public, as I am at the offensive racism and arrogance displayed by them. I am very angry my 6 year old child has heard the term "nigger" and heard it in the context of a white person using it in a negative way towards a african american person. My friend has a video of this whole incident on her phone if you would like to see.
I would be happy to talk to you on the phone also.

This type of email has made the rounds of the internet like many other unfounded rumors for years. Like Microsoft giving away free money. The name and location has simply been changed. You should know better than this.

I don't know who this story refers to or even if it is true. However, to set the record straight Alexis Feldt as Miss Renegades 2008 and her reign ended last Saturday when she was replaced with Miss Renegades 2009, Megan Smith.

Seems like the writer of this fiction lost her inhibition to use the “n” word half way through the third paragraph. Also the “ladies” vs the “girl” sentiments should give the reader some pause when considering the validity of the story. I also would be curious why a chick would show her tits to a guy one second then turn around and get in an altercation with a group of women (maybe she would not show them her tits.)

Ok, now I'm annoyed. I'm from Richmond. The Third Street Diner area is just fine. I've driven around there hundreds of times. There's even a police substation literally one minute away. MediaGeneral's HQ are a block away. Its near the Ethyl Corp.'s James River estate/plant. VCU's campus has spilled right below the bottom of the hill from the Diner. The city has done a good job of keeping that area vagrant-free. The Diner serves great food and the woman says she was out because she and the child were at the hospital. Grace and Franklin Streets in Richmond aren't exactly Broadway or Lexington Avenue in NYC, so she went to a decent place that was open. Would you have rather let the child go hungry?
The woman is probably telling the truth, but nothing will likely come of it. Do you think Bill Howell cares? (Crickets.) Exactly.

Not sure I like the fact that the Caucasian ladies are referred to as “white girls,” but the African American ladies are referred to as “African American ladies.” Also, the one in reference who this lady Tanya is denouncing, Alexis, even has African American family… it doesn't seem likely that Alexis would say such nasty words when it is clear from her profile and other apparent factors that she is very close and fond of her family members. Not to mention, due to the area of town and crime rate that has occurred in the past, there is always a police officer at the front door of 3rd Street Diner at such a late hour. If indeed this story was to be true, a young lady flashing herself and saying such awful comments would have been escorted out and arrested, I am certain. It seems like Tanya could possibly be one of the African American ladies that were involved and only angry that the two Caucasian ladies didn’t care to fight and were even offered a table to continue their dining experience alone without anymore confrontation.
In conclusion, I feel horrible for Alexis Feldt (the last name of which is pronounced “Felt” due to its German origin where the “d” is silent), and if indeed my thoughts are true, I suggest she take legal action accordingly, especially considering Tanya H. Smith emailed this to EVERY member of the House through the House server… slander maybe?? Still eagerly waiting to see this alleged video recording…
P.S. The young lady in the picture above IS NOT Alexis Feldt, so I suggest removing her picture immediately. Thank you.

The good thing is that if it is a fake or some oddball attempt to harm another person's reputation by e-mail, as it may be, it should be easily traced back to "Tanya." Even in the event it turns out that there is no Tanya. All those juicy headers on e-mails lead back to a server, somewhere, and with a little more digging can be tied back to the person who originated the e-mail.
I assume "Tanya" gave a phone number that was redacted in the e-mail you posted, so that someone might be able to get in touch with her. The alleged e-mail implies that. If not, then my "BS" suspicion buzzer is going off.
If I understand the alleged e-mail, "Tanya" says that she had a family medical emergency. That might explain the child in the diner at that time of day. So if she is a real person, there is no reason to pick on her parenting decision. Better to take your kid with you then leave him home unattended.
I'm more concerned that this woman alleged to be "Alexis" may be having her reputation smeared here, without knowing it. If she doesn't happen to google her name daily, she might not know about this post. If the allegation is untrue, I imagine this post would be devastating to her.
I believe that this thread should not have been posted without some fact checking first. At least, you should have blocked out the name of the person being accused of impropriety. And you should have blocked out the accuser's name.
It seems that if there is something to this story, it shouldn't be that hard to track down. One of the harsh things about cyberspace is that it can be used to cyberbully. When you pick up stuff and put it on a blog, you help publicize a message that may be true - or may not. Yeah, yeah Free Speech. But also common sense and decency.
Not sure why this post was put up. It seems you'd get the truth better by going to the sources. You know the names. You know the alleged establishment. Seems to me, it would have been nicer to have done some checking before posting. To protect both the accused and the accuser.
I don't want to comment on the content of the e-mail. If true, it is shocking behavior. If untrue, it was shocking behavior to have sent it.

WTF? Ok, you are just being a moron now. Hardee's closes around 9-10pm and doesn't open back up until 5:30am. The nearest 24/7 drive-through McDonald's is miles away from MCV, and the child was probably VERY hungry, and kids are very fussy when they are hungry. A Big Mac and large fries at 3:00 am doesn't sound too appealing to a responsible mother providing a meal to her child.
Bill Howell wouldn't care if a twelve foot-deep pothole was creating havoc in his district, so why would be give a crap about an alleged incident of racial intimidation that may/may not be verifiable? Richmond may be a lot of nice things, but there is still a noticeable undercurrent of intolerance in many parts of the area.

I don't think this lady even comes close to realizing that Alexis Feldt's sister-in-law is African American and her nieces and nephews are mixed. Never have I ever heard her use the N-word to describe any African American person in the 6 years that I have known her. Neither have I seen her flash anyone no matter how drunk she was.
