As leader of the Democratic Party of Virginia what will you do to cultivate Young Democrats into prominent roles in campaigns so we don't have the same "1995" campaign run every year?

The commonwealth has been forced into drastic cuts to higher education over the last couple of years, with no end in sight.
Now, here in Blacksburg, home of the largest public university in the commonwealth, we should ask you what you think is the proper place of higher education in the commonwealth? How can we reverse the trend in funding cuts?

Last month, Governor Kaine signed into law a “Choose Life” license plate bill. Upon doing so, he said, “If Planned Parenthood…or another similar organization ever chooses to seek a specialty license plate in Virginia, I believe the constitution would require the state to approve that plate to protect against any viewpoint discrimination.”
Assuming Planned Parenthood seeks to have its own pro-choice license plate in 2010, as Governor will you support a bill allowing a license plate with an opposing viewpoint from the “Choose Life” plate?

We see the epidemic of swine flu spreading in destination states for illegal immigrants ie. California, Texas, New York. Do you believe this trend will follow in Virginia’s high immigrant areas and would you do anything to stem the increase of these potential carriers into the Commonwealth?

We see an outbreak of swine flu in a group of school kids returning from a trip to Mexico. Isn't this proof that foreigners are nasty and that we really should home school are children?

Bubby,
You make jest of my question?
Seems to me that if the problem comes from a specific place we should limit that access. It also seems that HHS is doing just that as they are scrutinizing people entering the country "legally" from Mexico.
Finally, as much as I hate to correct your English, since you are speaking about home schooling I will make an exception. It should be "our" children.

A large part of the blueing of Virginia has come with strong religious campaign rhetoric from candidates, like Kaine and Obama, who are comfortable speaking to religious voters. Do you plan to reach out in similar ways, and if so, how?

All three of the Democratic candidates for Governor has failed to address concerns of State Employees. If you receive the Democratic nomination for Governor, what specifically will you do to or for state employees

I was making jest of YOU, as in, "our you aware that 700,000 people legally cross back and forth across the Mexican border daily?"
"About 200 children from the 2,700-student St. Francis Preparatory School in Queens were absent last week with flu-like symptoms, said Thomas Frieden, commissioner for the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, at a press conference yesterday"..."New York health officials said they don’t know how the students were exposed to the virus, though some students at the school traveled outside the U.S. during a recent spring break."...The department of health said it believes the students have swine flu because they tested positive for a form of influenza type A that didn’t match the H1 or H3 subtypes."

bubby,
First you should get your facts straight. 700k do not come across the mexican boarder daily.
Second, if you don’t think it is good policy to try to intercept any carriers then why are they currently being screened?
Seems to me that a perfectly logical question would be how do we screen illegals or secure our boarders better (or better yet send them back home to infect their own population).
As you can see we have enough problems with our own population bringing this flu over here we don’t need any more help (just like you don’t need any more help being stupid).
Next time skip the cut and paste class and take one on reading comprehension.
You are a moron
Susan, I think there is a bumper sticker you could get that reads “what if your mother was pro abortion” until your plates are ready.

My partner and I are planning to have children soon; we have been together for eight years. Virginia is not supportive of lesbian and gay families. If governor, what are you going to do to support my family and the many other families like mine in Virginia?

"In 2004, there was an average of 660,000 passenger crossings per day across 35 points of entry (POEs) on the 1,952-mile border between the United States and Mexico."

Meanwhile the decidedly legal students of St. Francis Preparatory School in NY, NY have 28 of the 45 confirmed cases of Swine Flu in the US of A. They got it over spring break in Cancun. I'm sure this was a plot by "illegals" to invade via our precious bodily fluids! This happened to me once after sipping a suspicious canteloupe gelato in Juarez - it was evil for sure!
We should all move to Prince William County Virginia and sandbag ourselves inside our homes - pronto!

Bubby,
"our you aware that 700,000 people legally cross back and forth across the Mexican border daily?"
If your neighbor had an illness that might kill you would you invite him over for dinner with your kids? If he snuck into your house would you ask him to stay and have a few drinks? Would it make a difference if there were 10 neighbors? 100?. I could care less how many people cross the border, just because there may be many does not alleviate the government’s responsibility to its citizens. How they intend to protect us is a fair question to ask anyone seeking a position of responsibility.
Btw.. no offence intended, but you really should work on your use of “our” vs “are”…

In 2008, President Barack Obama raised $778,642,047 (per the FEC) enabling him to compete on the air and ground in states that Democrats have never dreamed of seeking.
Tim Kaine raised an unprecedented amount of money in 2005 and has continued to raise money to fund statewide coordinated campaigns after being elected. Bob McDonnell won his last race with a last minute $1,000,000 infusion of money from national sources and has already received $1,300,000 this year from the Republican Governor's Association.
Was Barack Obama wrong to raise so much money in 2008 and why is a candidates' ability to raise money from more than our usual suspects a bad thing?
Posted by: Federal Graphics | April 28, 2009 at 11:29 AM
Bob McDonnell supports the death penalty, and has worked to expand it; Governor Kaine opposes the death penalty, thinks it’s ineffective, expensive public policy, and has worked against its expansion. Why do each of you agree more with Bob McDonnell than with Governor Kaine, and why do you think the death penalty is good public policy? It is mostly used by countries such as China and Iran, and states such as Texas.
