I don't know why I let this get me fired up. You're the blogging equivalent of a cheap whore.

Ticked at McAuliffe and ticked at Moran now per tweet. Looks like you should get behind Creigh Deeds!

Dan and "screw you",
Whose job do you think it is to ensure that private data held by the state government isn't allowed to be taken by a hacker? Hint: That person is in the EXECUTIVE branch.

It is the job of the executive, to include the Attorney General as the chief law enforcement officer of the state. But overall, someone really dropped the ball here! Big time!!!!

Daniel,
You really take the liberal cake.
You want to push this off on the AG? Gee he must be a republican.
Oh, so typical of the liberal mindset “quick find a republican to blame our mistake on”
Taking lessons from the Obambi administration and their handling of: the economy, the war, the budget, the flu.. etc..
You libs are embarrassingly pathetic.

Not pathetic, just stating something that could possibly be overlooked a bit.
The AG is the chief law enforcement officer and their job is to protect and provide guidance for the Governor ad well. Obviously something failed. But my comment comes from Steve and the Cooch both noting the importance of protecting people from identity fraud. I know fro experience that stealing information is the first step to this.

Only 8 months left until this bozo, McKaine, is outta here!

DanielK, the AG is the Commonwealth's law firm, not its chief law enforcement officer. In fact, the AG only has law enforcement responsibilities in extremely narrow cases.
Virginia's chief law enforcement job goes to the state police and the locally-elected Commonwealth's Attorneys, who are really the only ones empowered to conduct broad-based criminal investigations on the state level.

Ben, I doubt Kaine has this info stored on his myspace page. Hackers attack government systems about a million times per day. It's like terrorism, we have to be lucky all the time, they only have to be lucky once.

I believe that NLS has it correct, the responsibility lies with the chief Executive. The legislature should (and do) pass laws to punish this type of activity, the AG is responsible to enforce these laws and the Judicial should put these SOB’s in prison for life. But the burden lies directly with the Chief Exec. to keep this type of activity from occurring.
