Jody Wagner's new ad ends with the tag line "I'll focus on the next generation, not the next election"
Not surprising SINCE SHE HAS FAILED TO VOTE IN FOUR OF THE LAST FIVE STATEWIDE DEMOCRATIC PRIMARIES. Hopefully everything she does as LG will focus on more than her hideous record of political engagement.
Still voting for Moran-Wagner-Shannon

Wagner has no real convictions about anything and she even believes that gay people should have SOME rights. I wonder which ones she will choose for you? Good luck. I'm down with Moran and Shannon but I wouldn't vote for that woman if she was the only one in the race.

Well, while I'm a big Signer supporter, Wagner's better than Bolling on every single issue, and if she wins the primary, I'll vote for her enthusiasticly and hope that you do the same.

Good ad. I like it.
Deeds-Wagner-Shannon
That's the most electable ticket without a doubt.

Nonsense. Jody has been an active Democrat, a key member of the last two Democratic Governors' administrations, a former Vice Chair for Finance of the DPVA, the Democratic candidate for Congress in the 2nd CD in 2000 (narrowly losing, but running ahead of the national ticket), and she has campaigned for Democratic candidates for years, including for Barack Obama in 2008. She wasn't involved in recent intra-party contests and didn't vote in a few primaries. So what?
She also has a good and progressive record - she's pro-choice, opposed Marshall-Newman and has an anti-discrimination policy in her business, supports environmental initiatives, and has been endorsed by EMILY's List.
Jody is the kind of solid Virginia Democrat who can win and would be a strong addition to the ticket of any of our three candidates for Governor.

Frank, I can't believe a member of the DNC is saying it is ok to not vote in Democratic primaries. Take the blinders off for a second and think about the message this sends to voters.

It says a lot about Jody's qualifications that this is the best you can come up with as a rap against her.

You forgot to add that Jody was endorsed by the Richmond Free Press today.

the laughing stock whipping boy takes another shot at a presumptive Dem nominee. So, what else is new?

Installment One of the new pulp magazine style you've adopted, Ben? Say it ain't so.

Ben, what are you going to say about her if she wins?
This scorched earth stuff is getting a little old.
Posted by: Independent Voter | May 28, 2009 at 10:57 PM
Ben, you need to pick up the pig f..er Nader story about T-Mac. I'd like a whole thread to say what I think of that dipshit. And I mean Nader, not t-mac.

o/t again: i'm going to the RPV convention & will NOT be voting for cuccinelli because you dems would have too much fun with him during the general.

Unfortunately for you, GOP, Nader is full of crap and this 11th hour "disclosure" proves it; not only is he making it up, he doesn't have proof and he held onto relevant criminal information [if it were even true]. The situation has all the symbols of being false. Leave it to a has-been kook to be a spoil sport, all on account of him being unelectable.

Virginia Beach Democrats are hurting the entire state. First, they give us Pat Edmonson. Then, we get Jody Wagner (who will be slaughtered by Bill Bolling). Now one of their 1st term Democratic house members puts up a website where he misspells his own name twice! http://tinyurl.com/nh77zc There goes are chances for a Democratic takeover in the House.

I'm not sure what that tag line means. Is she suggesting that someone else is only focused on the next election? If so, then who? Bolling? Signer? It's a weird attempt to slam Signer, if that's who it's aimed it. Signer's the one who has clearly articulated what he would actually DO as LG. He has solid, specific plans for turning that office into more than just a placeholder or a steppingstone. He IS the next generation of Virginia politics. So, that's sort of silly if that tag line is supposed to a dig on Signer. It also doesn't make any sense, to me, if it's an attempted slam at Bolling. Unless, I suppose, she's suggesting that Bolling has ignored children and families in his tenure, and/or that he does nothing but run for re-election or whatever he's angling for next. I guess that could be it, but it's primary season, so she would need to be more explicit about that if it's really an attack on Bolling. Sounds to me like it's a snarky attempt to insult Signer. I hope not. Anyway, I'm for Signer. Of course I'll vote for Wagner in the general if she wins (I'm not going to stay home, and I'm not going to vote for Bolling!) but I strongly hope that Signer wins the nomination. Nothing against Jody, but Signer's the strongest candidate, he could absolutely beat Bolling, and he would make the best LG.

Rob Smith, III, you’re whistling past the grave yard on this one. Mr. GOP is asking a serious question. The point is it’s the first of many your pal Terry will see come out about him if he gets your nod.
BTW, I know you D’s love NPR so I find you brush back on this report, well, odd. Had it been Fox News, I would not be surprised, but "National Peoples Radio"? As Gomer Pyle use to say in moments like these, “Sue-prize, Sue-prize!”

First they give us Pat Edmonson? Are you kidding? She took out a term term incumbent for SB It's obvious that you believe that is nothing, however, if you pay taxes you should realize the impact of public education on the community. 70,000 students, 86 schools, and a 700 million + budget as opposed to happy talk about budget projections that left everyone - you included -up the creek. Edmonson was outreach director of the VBDC when they were voted best large committee and is Vice Chair. Wagner on the other hand couldn't even get her ass out to vote, much less make a decision or participate in any other party activities - that's some good Dem! Since you seem to have the inside track on what the Democrats in VAB should be doing, I don't believe I've ever heard of you. Grow a brain.

You raise some valid points, Ghost. We'll see, though, how we can deal with the alleged negatives and churn out something positive.
Btw, regarding the advertisement, you can see me next to Jody from 00:08-00:11. :)
