Could you Dems try not to salivate over this? I just cleaned up around here.

massive rib-eye crowds overwhelming Pete's stomach..

Hell, his immediate family is probably large enough to deliver a majority of delegates.

As someone who is actually here I can tell you this post is false.

What's up with the white tie from the fashion critic? I expected better of you.

Love it (for Democrats)

Cuccinelli Won!

The number of delegates he has isn't as important as where they're from. He might have hundreds from Northern Virginia but they can only cast so many votes. Voting strength is based on locality. A single voter from Chesterfield might count more than dozens from Arlington.

Good to see you last night, Ben.
I'm looking forward to your post about the licentiousness of GOP delegates (a la TNR a few years back). ;-)

So happy to see the Republicans are still nominating out of touch candidates. Go Steve.
Posted by: BlueAngel | May 30, 2009 at 06:23 PM
Go Cooch Go!
Somebody remind me... who was the last Democrat to win Attorney General?
Anyone... anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

40+ Republican bloggers and Ben is the only person there who is able to make the obvious call on this race the night before?
No wonder we can't ever win elections.

Steve Shannon put out a quick release and email after the nomination of Cucc. Steve better not take his Democratic friends and base for granted, he needs them to win big. So far he has.

I.Plublius (6:48pm),
Her name was Mary Sue Terry. In 2010, I'll be Steve Shannon.

Anyone have a clue what the actual percentages were in Bolling-Muldoon and Cuccinelli-Brownlee?
Posted by: Not Karl Rove | May 30, 2009 at 08:56 PM
Steve Shannon is totally unknown by grassroots Democrats who are not from NOVA. As best I can tell, he has made a minimal, at best, outreach effort to downstate Dems beyond his GA colleagues. Could be a very costly mistake on his part.
Posted by: anon | May 30, 2009 at 08:56 PM
What, all the downstate Dems are going to vote for Cuccinelli?
Posted by: Not John S. Mosby | May 30, 2009 at 10:56 PM
Ken Ayatollah Khomeini Cuccinelli

not john s. mosby:
i agree with you. i don't know any dems that ever vote Republican. they even voted for obama. and look where that has taken us.

Kelley in VA,
President Obama hasn't even been in office six months. What are you making your judgements on?
Obama hit a home run with this Supreme Court nominee. Seriously, the GOP has lost the Hispanic community for ever. The GOP is basically a bunch of 60+ year old white men and their wives (and the State of VA GOP models this trend).
Why should VA Dems vote for the party of RNC (Rush Newt Cheney)? The RNC is the face of the party. Guys like Colin Powell, etc. are tossed to the side of the road by the RNC (And please continue to alienate moderates. I will take Colin Powell in my party any day of the week - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8-txU8IbgAI and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0s3BNx83iHU&feature=related ). Loudest cheers at the RPV convention were for Hannity, for heaven's sake. What does this tell you?
Meanwhile, you have Republicans that have anti-gay voting records, etc. that are having gay sex on the side. It's about the hypocrisy. This Outraged movie below is going to "out" a lot of freaks in the GOP. Thank heavens.

anon 8:56,
What are you talking about? Shannon was campaigning and raising money for Delegate and Senate candidates in 07. The grassroots in the party know him and the regular voters will too.
Posted by: asmith | May 31, 2009 at 01:32 PM
if you want to debate obama's policies with me, bring it on. and if you want to sing sotomayor's praises, please do so.
i can't defend everything the RNC does, but i'm pretty up on all the obama stuff.

"Loudest cheers at the RPV convention were for Hannity, for heaven's sake."
You obviously were not there. The loudest cheers of the whole weekend were for Cadet Adnan Barqawi! His is an amazing story, and to borrow a phrase, he is certainly a great American!

That young man stole the show.

I like the Democratic Party, because we help minorities to stay in welfare.
Posted by: Liberal | May 31, 2009 at 10:20 PM
Anon 8:56, you are wrong. Steve's been all over the state, and continues to be. He's very popular in SW Va. in particular. He will have absolutely no problem convincing the grassroots and the base that he is the better candidate.
