This is one election that NLS and I are in agreement.

I am supporting Miles, and I have led opposition to I-66 widening in the past, but there is an argument for dedicated, divided bus lanes. I-66 was designed to be a multi-modal corridor and a chief concern of mine in opposing widening has been preserving options for mass transit, either expansion of metrorail or dedicated BRT. So in Patrick's defense, he's not all wrong. He just doesn't have a firm grasp of the nuance. In any event, it is true that VDOT has no plans or interest in doing bus lanes and thus to concede them in the absence of a regionwide transit/transportation plan is not a good idea.
