In listing Bob's accomplishment, Sanford says "he has been prolific with his wife Maureen". Visions of Bob "Can't Recall" McDonnell in the bedroom again.
Bizarre, and very creepy!

Another douchenozzle hypocryte bites the big one. Oh, I'm including Spitzer in that group, so shut up.
Posted by: Doug | June 24, 2009 at 05:16 PM
I don't know exactly what a douchenozzle is but I'm so tired of these hypocrites it makes me want to scream. Somewhere there has to be a politician who understands commitment and honor. At the risk of being exposed as naive, I like the fact that both parties in Virginia APPEAR to have nominated men who at least meet the minimum threshhold of honoring their marital vows. Of course, if recent history means anything I'll probably be proven wrong next week.

Are we McDonnell supporters supposed to be ashamed or something?
It's actually a pretty good bio that Sanford gave. Not really sure what you are trying to infer.
Should a Democrat be ashamed to be introduced by Bill Clinton?
Posted by: Williamsburg | June 24, 2009 at 05:45 PM
Williamsburg - No, you shouldn't be ashamed. In fact, I'm proud of what was said by and about Bob in that video. Having said that, let the Ds have their few minutes of snickering and guilt by association attacks. It's not a game they want to play too aggressively.
At the same time, my comment about Sanford above remains. I'm tired of these hypocrites.

Ben, knock off the guilt by association. It’s meaningless and you would condemn it if the GOP did the same thing to your precious Terry “McAwful”. Oh I forgot, he lost miserably…didn’t he?

Democrats would rather be introduced by Barney Frank so long as he did not say they spent the night at his house of male prostitution before the event.
Posted by: change | June 24, 2009 at 06:50 PM
Let me clarify this for you Republicans: Dems have never claimed to be "The party of family values". Republicans have. THAT'S hypocritical.
"Sanford and Sin"

Let me be long winded and unclear here, as God as my witness and all that and I know I have, well um let down Tom Davis. Mainly Tom, and his matching sweaters. I'm so sorry Tommy! I was not cheating on YOU! Maria isn't half the woman you are Tommy!
Well, don't cry for me. Yadda. Hiking. Also.
Posted by: Mark Sanford | June 24, 2009 at 07:40 PM
Once again, Fox news channel reported yesterday that the media was jumping on Sanford for no reason, and today, they placed a D after his name when reporting his press conference. They do this EVERY SINGLE TIME a Republican is caught doing something wrong, they retaliate by first saying what was wrong wasn't in fact wrong, and then pretending the Republican is a Democrat.
Peep it: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=389&topic_id=5914682&mesg_id=5914819
It is honestly unbelievable.

Barney Frank. Yeah, thats really all we have left. Something from the '80s. Pathetic huh?
Posted by: change | June 24, 2009 at 08:02 PM
phriendlyjaime: go watch MSNBC or ABC. you'll feel better.
Posted by: kelley in virginia | June 24, 2009 at 08:04 PM
PhriendlyJamie. Deary hot hippie chick ;) you have to understand that part of my love for hiking, the granola in my pocket, my flying to South America to apparently sleep with a woman, has turned me into a Democrat.
May I email you later? Casually?

I'm not for "securing the borders" in my bed!
Posted by: Mark Sanford | June 24, 2009 at 08:40 PM
Wait, is that guy on the far right the GOP nominee for Governor of New Jersey?
What in the world possessed the NJ GOP that made them nominate the bastard love child of Porky Pig and Roseanne Barr

Plenty of Adultery to go around.
Sen. Chuck Robb, (Lied about it)

Sen. Daniel Inouye,

Jesse Jackson,
Rep. Mel Reynolds(sexually assaulted a 16 yr old boy, pardoned by Pres. Clinton),

Unless you're suggesting that Sanford was trading tales of their little black books with Bob McDonnell, this kind of attack is no more sensible than challenging the sexual ethics of all Democrats based upon those of Barney Frank and Gerry Studds.
Except, of course, that the GOP doesn't attempt to legitimize the perversions of its miscreants as a matter of policy.

Suzie,
Is your point that the dems have no “family values” and therefore should be able to act in any manner they choose no matter how repulsive?
I do not think that opinion would be shared with the majority of the party.
Just as “all” democrats should not be judged by the low standards of a few (Frank, Edwards, etc..) neither should all republicans be painted with the transgressions of the few who make mistakes.
I would guess the majority of democrats and republicans do not find themselves in situations such as these and I would also guess that if you polled democrats they indeed would say that they believe “family values” to be important.
When democrats fall short, by and large the republicans will feel empathy and let them heal those wounds. When republicans fall short the same respect should be considered.

James Young -- excellent point. Republicans kick their scumbags out. Democrats embrace theirs.
