And I love the video. Could Gerry be more of a jerk to a Democrat who lives in his district?

NLS,
Just out of curiosity, had a Connolly staffer took a swat at the camera there (with say a cane), would you be going viral?

Just Ben auditioning for membership in the Republican Party again!
Posted by: Tom Paine | July 21, 2009 at 10:37 PM
Right Tom, because clearly the best way to audition for the Republican Party is too support a progressive caucus position. Moron.

look, yall really need to take a look at some of the items in the healthcare bill proposed by obama.
all illegal immigrants have access. there is specific language that when health care benefits are taxed (such as those that your employer provides for you), unions are exempt.
and even if you want to pay more taxes for less quality care, there is language that affects the doctor/patient relationship.
maybe gerry connolly thinks a better bill can be produced.

So Ben, would you have a job without rich people? And by the way, please remind us about how you actively encouraged everyone (friends and fmaily included) to vote for Keith Fimian.

I recently had a number of discussions with several Democratic campaign consultants and Ben's name came every time; half thought Ben had might have gone over the cliff; the other half knew he had.
More than one cited his initial political infatuation with Sarah Palin!

Gerry has been a tool,is a tool and (barring some deathbed conversion) will always be a tool

And now I'm citing George Burke's infatuation with Ben. Whats the deal, Georgie?

Kelly in VA or somebody... Please point me in the right direction to read all of what is being discussed with respect to healthcare.
To the best of my knowledge assisted suicide is a crime in this country.
Seem to remember Dr. K going to the slammer for that. I understand now there is a part of this healthcare thought that is going to require counceling sessions every 5 years or more if one is really ill or in a nursing home. The topic is to be about alternatives for end of life care...sounds a little to me like no more maintenance drugs for you.
George..there are those who do think Ben goes off the deep end. To be honest, I really am beginning to think he has lots of company. I came into this world as a Republican. Switched parties with the 2000 GOP primary and the Karl Rowe crap that went on in SC. Then I thought maybe I should just support the candidate who appears to lie the least. Now, the one who just might do the least amount of harm sounds good.

Yawn

MIJ - Your post is the most intelligent that I have seen. Not just an attack, but one that asks real questions. Thank you.
But I suggest that you continue questioning, especially blogs like this one that are more concerned with venom and hatred than the issues at hand.
Anyone that thinks that health care reform can be solved through tax increases alone is foolish.
Aren't solutions typically found when questions are asked and issues are raised? Doesn't negotiation and compromise factor in to the solutions that will be best?
The idiots on the far left are just as guilty as those on the far right in being more interested in promoting the "my way is the ONLY way" mentality.
MIJ, keep asking questions, keep looking beyond the hype that you will find on this site.

"I should just support the candidate who appears to lie the least"
sheeze, I just wasted 60 minutes listening to Obambi squeeze in 120 minutes of lies.
Now that is impressive.
In summary:
trust me, you can have everything you want and it will not cost you a thing.
trust me, the check in in the mail..
trust me, I won't cu
(better not finish that one.)

MIJ: not assisted suicide for the elderly--more like no procedures (frankly, some are unnecessary) or life-prolonging measures.
not matter your personal belief on these issues, whose decision is it in the end? the patient? or the govt?
but maybe the bill won't get voted on now & there will be time to properly review, discuss & change the offensive or too expensive (like letting ALL illegals) have free healthcare.
Posted by: kelley in virginia | July 23, 2009 at 08:58 AM
Kelly...I understand what you are saying. I also understand the function of a living will. My 96 year old mother has one. I have one. That document will guide what is done and what is not done. Without my being there, no individual is going to have a chat with my mother about discontinuing her meds so she cashes out. That is a family decision not the function of some jackass bean counter.
As for a proper review, you really think any of those on the hill are going to take the time to read 1800 pages? Has Obama read all 1800 pages?

When is Connolly not a jerk?
Posted by: Freedom Fighter | July 23, 2009 at 03:13 PM
Gerry Connolly is always a jerk. That's who he is.
Keith Fimian is a bumbler. That's who he is.
The Republicans are deluded if they think Fimian can win. Pick Keith. Lose again.
