Outstanding. My family is splitting its ballots for Delegate Bob Marshall, Cuccinelli/Bolling...and Deeds. We particularly like Senator Deeds' stance as a defender of the unborn.

When did McDonnell say that about Bush? It might fly better if they added a footnote....oh yea....and if most folks weren't already convinced that heavy job losses and economic woes are now on Obama's watch.

Of course you like the ad... It sounds really nice. Of course, its misleading and untrue. But then why let the truth get in the way of something that sounds good...

I see the idiot Repug trolls are in full force here today.
Of course the ad is correct and fair, and an accurate representation of McDonnell's thinking. He likes Bushonomics, plain and simple. All conservatives do.
And folks have been always convinced and still are that the job losses and woes are Bush's fault. That hasn't changed one bit.

DCC,
There comes a time when a leader must take a bit of responsibility, especially when they have put the nation in more debt than all the previous presidents combined. Blaming Bush is getting old, even for the most strident liberals (ask Cindy Sheehan).
Obambi’s “the buck stops with “anybody else” excuse has gotten old but for the most strident “blue pill takers. I assume you are an extremist and not a moderate thinker (if not you are brain dead according to D-calif Stark)
Try to sell your “Bush’s fault” to the 10 percent who have lost their jobs under Obambi’s watch. With “real” unemployment at 16 percent I don’t think they are buying what you extremists are selling anymore. The snake oil salesmen are looking to be unemployed come 2010 and November might be a wake up call for those “brain dead” moderates.
As for this ad, it is fun, but an appropriate and simple response ad might be “are you better off than you were a year ago?”

So change, your analysis is that the "real" unemployment was 6% on January 19, 2009? And that the economy was running just fine on that date?

When you are running for office, you do not mention your opponent's name over and over. Not a great ad.

Unemployment is a lagging indicator - it's an oft repeated truism by economists. So it's more correct to say that higher unemployment levels across the country are a result of the meltdowns of 2008.
I also might add that according to the US Dept. of Labor, unemployment in VA is lower for July 2009 than it was in June 2009.
About the ad - NLS is right. It's sharp and draws a clear contrast between the two candidates - Deeds governing with the Warner model that works; McDonnell from the Bush model that doesn't.

He's not a "Tim Kaine style" leader? Gosh....

Agree with Kevin, it's a good ad for the sharp contrast it draws.
I didn't even read the troll "change" comment, because he's the blog dunce and his comments always are a few moments of life I can never get back. So not reading him, I have no response to him.
But no doubt things are starting to look up for Virginia Democrats. I don't know if it will prove too little, too late, but at the least we're looking at a single-digit race in November, not the rout I feared was developing a few weeks ago.
