Here's what the Washington Blade had to say about McDonnell when he ran for AG:
"McDonnell voted for the Virginia marriage amendment and a resolution urging Congress to pass a Federal Marriage Amendment, according to Equality Virginia. He also has not signed Equality Virginia’s employment non-discrimination pledge. McDonnell voted against a law to allow private companies to offer domestic partner health insurance, something his opponent supported. McDonnell also supported the failed anti-gay adoption bill."
So Bob opposes allowing private companies to give employees the benefits they choose? That's the "pro-business" guy??? Plus, he opposes a non-discrimination pledge for his employees? Sick.
Then there was the incident where Bob was determined to remove a judge from the bench in Virginia because she was a lesbian. As the Blade says about this: "[Bob] argued in 2003 to block the reappointment of Circuit Court Judge
Verbena Askew of Newport News, claiming that her perceived sexual
orientation meant she violated the state’s “crimes against nature law.”
Wow. There's even more background on Bob's lesbian judge obsession here.
Now fast forward to today when we saw the political roadmap Bob laid out 20 years ago for gaining power in politics. As the WaPo says... "He said government policy should favor married couples over "cohabitators, homosexuals or fornicators."
It took this 1989 thesis paper for the Post to finally notice that? Is politics so dumbed down now that 20 years of political hatred can't be reported unless the hate comes directly out of the person's mouth?
Either way, Virginia voters now know all they need to know about what is inside of Bob McDonnell. He's basically a David Darrell Rice type who got into the politics of hate instead of the violence of hate.
