They're certainly a diverse group and very representative of Fairfax County. That is, Fairfax in 1948.
The one guy, with his mouth open, sort of looks like Larry Craig.

Not John, is it really appropriate to so aggressively go after some random citizen who did nothing and who you don't even know just because they appeared in a photo?
There's good-natured ribbing, like what Ben did, and then there's unadalturated douchebaggery, like you manage to provide time and time again. It's simply unfathomable to imagine that anybody who knows you actually likes you.

Besides, Larry Craig was just reaching under that stall to pick up a piece of toilet paper. He is an incredibly neat fellow. And he is not now and has never been a homosexual.
I have to agree about laying off the anonymous individual who just happens to be in the picture.
The picture itself is priceless.

Most of the people my age or younger who understand "new media" don't need to go to a session on understanding new media.
Next up, Ben posts a picture of an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting with the caption "OMG LOOK AT ALL THE ALCOHOLICS AT THIS MEETING!"

Totally unnessary and highly unfair and unkind entry. I'm with Brian W.S. on this one.

Come on guys. Have a sense of humor.
Ben has posted many things I found to be over the top or unkind. This is definitely not one of them.
This is good natured and it is very funny.
Lighten up.

Anyone who has followed the exploits of septuagenarian and octogenarian politicians twittering knows this a gold mine of humor.

Not John Mosby, I deleted the last line of your comment- totally inappropriate.

Good stuff. You don't have to be from the opposite party to get a good laugh at people. Cheap entertainment should be enjoyed wherever you find it....and old Republicans are always a good source of a chuckle or two.

Breathtakingly stupid.
Bob Dix was the last Republican in Fairfax to "get it."

Oh Ben,
I hope misspelling Flickr as "flicker" was supposed to be ironic. Right? Right?
Posted by: CarolineProgressive | August 29, 2009 at 04:39 PM
Caroline- it took almost a day for someone to finally pick up on that!!!!

Priceless! I tweeted from the Women for McDonnell event today in Alexandria that GOP councilwoman Alicia Hughes was the ONLY black person there. It was pathetic. Everyone else was pretty much a middle aged, slightly overweight, upper middle class white women in ugly clothes from Chico's. I fit right in, except for the Chico's, which I hate. I refuse to wear a jacket that looks like Jackson Pollock threw up on it, and I happen to love Jackson Pollock.
Bottom line - the photo is funny for the same reason Carroll O'Connor was funny on "All In The Family." It's just the irony of it all...

It's still over. Don't you guys get it that Creigh needs some conservative support to win, since he won't get the same black turnout or young white liberal turnout (you know, people who are going to vote for Deeds anyway)

"Creigh is polling a little better than a month ago so far but still down by a lot"
Posted by: TruthMeter | August 29, 2009 at 06:02 PM
You want to tell Creigh to stay the hell way from Obama....

"george allen is way more popular with the folks voting this fall than barack obama..."
Posted by: TruthMeter | August 29, 2009 at 06:03 PM
Well Georgie is on the outside looking in, and Barack is the prez. I guess timing really is everything.

Ben-
The only reason you got to see the picture is because we completly overhauled our website as part of our "new media" strategy and added all those things like Flickr and video downloads etc.
And I would point out that isn't the purpose of a training session to train those who do not understand "new media" on "new media"? That lack of understanding of new technolgies tends to be generational as you so kindly point out in the photo.
But make fun all you want... but we will just let the recent GOP resurgence and results in Fairfax County speak for themselves.
