Yes. He's the worst Democratic candidate for governor...since before the Civil War.

Wait, what did he do now?
(P.S. I found NLS via Jim Geraghty awhile ago and even though I don't normally "do" comments I figured I'd use this opportunity to salute you, Ben, for running a great VA politics blog. It says something that I'm willing to come here at least once a day despite the fact that your politics are the opposite of mine.)

The SurveyUSA poll shows McDonnell up 19 points, Bolling up 14 points, and Cuccinelli up 15 points. If this trend continues, I think you (Ben) should re-write your House analysis since you have already recognized that the Statehouse results will drive the House results. The Lean and Slightly Lean Democrat and the Toss-up seats will certainly become at least Slightly Lean Republican. This leaves perhaps 34 Democrat seats for a loss of 9. And, who knows if even the 5 Likely D's may be threatened. It is hard to say if Deeds is the sole factor but its looking great for Republicans.

Esoteric, he said he would consider "opting out" of a federal public option.

So it is OK for Ben to drop the F-Bomb, but not Bob McDonnell.

@Not Ben Tribbett
Yes, as long as Ben's not running for office and Bob is. Obviously.

Don't most Virginians agree with Deeds and oppose the public option?
Yeah, this will piss off the base. But then they don't much like him anyway.

What's so bad about saying telling a candidate to go fuck themselves? I mean come on....Aren't all the Political and Executive Director's nowadays telling people to go fuck themselves! It's the professional thing to do to tell someone to go fuck themselves and put up a video instead of typing up a piece about why he is incorrect in his lack of support for the public option.
But then again, what the fuck do I know???

Creigh needs a new tie...

The best part is the look on Joe Abbey and the other staffers' faces.

I sure wish there was a Democrat running for Governor this year.
Posted by: RacerX | October 21, 2009 at 01:52 AM
as a mcdonnell supporter..I would not lend much support into the Survey USA poll.
cageyd did you see the cross tabs...there is no way that Bob is getting 31 percent of the black vote!!

Where is Mary Sue Terry when we need her?

The sad thing about this as that if and when Creigh loses, the pundits will lay it on the disheartened/disenchanted/ disillusioned Obama voters.
But the democratic base isn't disillusioned with Obama, but with so-called democrats like Creigh. Mr. Deeds has spent the last few months determined to run to the middle, to say as little as possible, and not piss anybody off. But in his quest to please everyone and anyone, he has pleased no one. IMHO, of course.
RacerX put it well: I sure wish there was a Democrat running for Governor this year.

I agree: he's bad.

Look at his facial experession at about second 35 in the clip. Classic liar.
He has that stunned look of "oh crap I just got punched in the gut really hard."
Ben, this clip is a real hoot.

Another elephant wearing a dead dixiecrat donkey skin as a disguise.
Seems to be a lot of that in VA.
"Fake unions" are riddled with this kind of lowlife beast.

More to the point, Deeds doesn't know what he stands for, and neither do the voters. Obama, much as I disagree with him, waws smart enough to give a positive vision and attract independent voters. Sometimes it doesn't matter liberal or conservative, Democrat or Republican (particularly in Virginia) if you can't tell the voters who you are, especially in an open seat situation.
And Ben, I'm sure the Democratic Party appreciates your efforts to turn it into a circular firing squad.

Very rough night with shivering and 103.6. Im getting checked out for H1N1 later .
This could take me out of working the polls We will see how the reps work

Seriously - why do his press people let him get anywhere near a gaggle of reporters with mikes? Every single time he's done one of these he's lodged his foot completely in his mouth. It's hilarious.
Keep up the good work, Creigh. And I can understand Ben's anger - if he were my candidate I'd be pissed too.

The SurveyUSA poll is junk. No way Cooch is getting 17% of Obama voters.... But that doesn't mean the poll should just be ignored. Polls can be off, even way off, but they'll almost never have one candidate up so much when the other is actually winning. Creigh's still losing, and that should be clear, and clips like this do nothing for him.
Creigh's finally started running a more positive campaign, but I suspect it is too little too late. There's an old point in politics that everyone hates negative ads, but they work. Maybe we finally see the limits - negative ads work, but only when you've goot a good positive message to go with it.

It is kind of funny to go back into the archives (like from 2006, 2007) and read people's comments about how Deeds was going to mop the floor with whatever Rep. they threw at us.
Silly commenters.

Have we learned anything? Can we please keep Creigh away from reporters following debates.
