Looks like it might have been more like 30 for Tom...

It's actually a very, VERY good ad. And remember, I speak as a man who wants nothing more than to see Perriello go down in flames this year.
The spilled coffee is a really nice touch. I predict this ad will get positive press.

I am for Tom but I dont like the ad

I LOVE that ad! I'm glad it's actually someone I'm supporting that's running it, because I'd have to rave about it even if it wasn't. (I confess to really liking Michael Steele's puppies ad a few years back.)

Ben
What agency did that ad? It's fabulous. Reminds me of Wellstone's ad campaign.
I just sent Tom $100 so he can run it more often.

Excellent ad.

I want to see Perriello lose in November, but this ad is great!

http://www.eichenbaum.net/ did it

Cute, BUT, Im not sure it is a good ad for TP. The scary thing is, that is actually how clueless Tom Perriello is about virginians who work for a living. Growing up in a well to do family, attending Charlottesville's most elite private school (St. Anne's Belfield) and never having had a real job. the ad is cute, but it paints an all too realisitic portrait of him also. stepp'in in cow poop sounds about right.

Sorry, but I thought that the ad was hilarious.
The less you can laugh at yourself, the more other people will do it for you.

I believe the phrase is "freshman fifteen" -- alliteration and all.

This is a very good ad.
Well done.

He will probably be doing one of those jobs come November.
Posted by: jed | June 30, 2010 at 05:44 PM
the people of Martinsville (20% unemployment) know not of what jobs he speaks.

Good ad. It could've been a Bill Hillsman ad. Hillsman is hit-and-miss, either very good or very bad. Neither here nor there as I don't think Perriello is working with Hillsman.
That tangent aside, this ad is VERY good. Grabs and keeps the viewer's attention, and if you're a voter who doesn't know the candidates well or otherwise doesn't have his/her mind made up, you can't help but like this guy.

Awesome ad...and I'd still "hit that" ;-)
Posted by: proudvadem | June 30, 2010 at 10:08 PM
The Perriello campaign's been very good at making ads that make him much more likeable on a personal level (see also the 2008 ad with everyone mispronouncing his name). This is a bad year to have a D next to your name, but even the most vicious Tea Partier will calm down when dealing with someone they like as a person. So, strategically, a very good ad.
Whether it's enough to overcome the fact that this a bad year to be a Dem and a very bad district in which to be a Dem, on that count I'm doubtful.

Cute ad, but Hurt will win by double digits.
Posted by: notben | June 30, 2010 at 10:20 PM
BM-I guess working to end the violence in Sierra Leone, helping depose Charles Taylor and working as a national sec. analyst in Darfur and Afghanistan isn't "real" enough for you...
notben-double digits? last public poll released had him tied with Sen. Hurt...not sure where you are getting that prediction...

@kelley Virgil Goode did nothing while the manufacturing sector in southside virtually disappeared and yet Perriello is the one you blame because despite being in office for only a year in a half, he hasn't brought them all the jobs back yet? I hope you have such high standards for republicans in office too.

The ad is pretty good. Whoever though of this one on his campain should get a gold star.

This ad is redonkulous. I like it.

Mr Bubbles
What would you have done to keep manufacturing in southside?

You're one to talk about some extra weight. Pot, kettle, etc.
