Finally it looks like Tom Perriello might be on a path to give himself a chance this November.
Totally agree with him here. They are "f***ing out of touch" and incompetent too.

Perriello is a Pelosi enabler. He swore up & down that he would never vote for Obamacare if it allowed federal funding of abortions (it does).

Perriello voted with the Republicans 60% of the time? Not according to the record:

Talk about desperation. Does he really think that his constituents are that f***ing stupid?

HisRoc,
Unfortunately, I think they all believe we are that f-ing stupid. They think the American people have no common sense, that includes McD and all of those who think they can tell us something that goes against rational thinking and make us believe it is true.

change,
I think that you are right, but I also think that the professional politicians are in for a rude awaking this November. People in this country are pissed off and they are motivated to do something about it.

That 60% number is probably accurate.
A great number of the votes are procedural and have overwhelming bipartisan support. These heavily skew the averages if you just look at total votes, so that is how be probably justifies the 60% number.

GN, if he is counting Post Office namings... I'd be flabbergasted.
Posted by: Not Larry Sabato | August 30, 2010 at 06:54 PM
The 90% of the time with Dems includes Post Office namings, so why not include them for the 60% of the time with the GOP?
The vast majority of votes don't matter in Congress. The ones that do are porkulus, cap and tax, and the government takeover of health care.

Someone check my math but… if he votes with the R’s 60% and votes with Pelosi 90%, doesn’t that make Pelosi a supporter of republican ideas?
Just goes to show that:
1. you can get numbers to say what you want and
2. some people will say anything to get elected and
3. lot’s of folks are running fast and far away from their democratic leadership.
Guess that hopey changey thing is not working out so well for some “democratics”…

Did Perriello ever work for USIA or Voice of America?
Posted by: Flat Earth Frank | August 30, 2010 at 09:22 PM
I find it ironic that when Tommy Boy throws the numbers back into the faces of his opponents the cry is "you can get numbers to say what you want" and "some people will say anything to get elected" when the whole point of using the 90% to begin with was absurd. Porkulus, cap and tax, socialist health care. End of story. Perriello could have voted with the GOP on every other vote but would still have to go.

Rural voters know he voted for Obamacare. Nothing else matters. He's toast. Did it to himself.
Posted by: Tatum | August 30, 2010 at 10:25 PM
The powerbrokers in the White House got their big bill passed and could care less if it costs them majorities in either house. I agree that in many areas rural Dems like Perriello won are in trouble but Perriello may have enough campaign skill to pull out an upset.
The Dems are in trouble when an incumbent winning is considered an upset and I think it's safe to say given the climate and his votes on issues which aren't popular in the district a Perriello victory will be considered an upset!

A liberal Democrat trying to change his spots and be a conservative, just a few months before the election?
SHOCKER!
Posted by: Not Bubby | August 31, 2010 at 09:16 AM
perriello said this morning at a townhall that he would vote (again) for Pelosi for Speaker.
you know, that is just clueless.

I think you have this guy all wrong. He's "as honest as a gunfighter can be". The Dems need all hands on deck this year.
