Democrats need to use privatizing ABC as a bargaining chip.
Democrats should help pass McDonnald's plan to privatize if McDonald's supports a bipartisan redistricting plan through the 2011 General Assembly session.

The alcohol industry doesn't want a negotiation, they want a ROI for funding McDonnell, Howell, Kilgore, Obenshain, et al.

I stopped paying attention to Jeff Shapiro a while back. I've learned that he's not going to allow facts to interfere with a great commentary.

If the R’s in the house vote to raise taxes on the voters with this silly political scheme they will, in effect, have opened the door for Saslaw to put forth a real solution to the transportation problem.
The debate will then change to “since the R’s are willing to raise taxes”, are they willing to do so with a proposal that will actually “fix” the transportation problem.
It reminds me of the guy in the bar who asked a woman if she “would go to bed with him for a million dollars” and she said “yes”. He then asked if “she would do so for a dollar”. She slapped him and said “what do you think I am”…. He replied “I know what you are, now I just want to know how much it will cost”.
Salsaw is a pure political genius…

At least there is one strong Democratic politician in Virginia.
