Perhaps celebrating the return of George Allen to Virginia politics, Ken Cuccinelli gets into the game with a joke about his "hispanic cab driver".

Doesn't sound like a joke, sounds like the poor cab is becoming a republican!

So calling a hispanic person "hispanic" is now racist?
::eye roll::

No, but the race of your cabbie ought not to be important.

That doesn't sound like a joke to me. If the guy was Cuban, it's pretty telling.

"No, but the race of your cabbie ought not to be important."
If your cabbie made a remark suggesting he had first-hand knowledge about Cuba, then being hispanic has relevance. (Pssst: native Cubans are hispanic).
This screaming racism at the drop of a hat is really pathetic.

I read this post last night and I thought I must be missing something. I think I figured it out. Ben now thinks there was nothing wrong with Allen's comments.

I'm not sure what's wrong with what Cuccinelli said here either.

Yeah, I miss the good old days of Batista. There was a guy who never had a need for the regs!

Ben, I wish you had those little thumbs up signs or thumbs down signs to rate the comments here.

I don't even know what Cuccinelli's tweet means. "Regs" is short for what?
Posted by: DCCyclone | February 01, 2011 at 09:40 PM
Regulations. Those evil constructions that prevented wall street and the banking industry from destroying the U.S. economy in 2008...oops.
