Former Tim Hugo aide Jason Flanary hasn't announced yet, but looks like he just set up a Facebook fan page.

Would that Marsden could be so lucky. Flanary is a conservative ideologue who's held precisely one job outside politics in entire his life - which doesn't take away from the fact that that one job, as a Marine Corpsman, is an admirable one.
Still, this guy has career politician written all over him!
I'm sure he'll raise a boatload of money, but what can he actually bring to the table as far as experience, except doing whatever the Republicans tell him? Oh and being the Lobbyist-in-chief for CapNET doesn't count: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/07/31/AR2005073100911.html.
How'd he get that job, by the way? Tim Hugo gave it to him: "Flanary took over CapNet, which lobbies on technology issues, from Tim Hugo..."
Tim Hugo already gets one vote in Richmond: he doesn't need two!

Lurch? I thought Ed Schrock had been out of politics for years.

Bingo. Say what you want about Jason, at least he lives here.

What is Steve Hunt looking to run for?

Jason Flanary has not paid property taxes in Va, has no children (let alone of school age), he feels not our pain. He is a post USMC bureaucrat. We have enough of them already, he will not get my Republican vote. Another embarrassing candidate.

Funny thing Roger... Flanary owns a home in the district, so that rules out your property tax and your "doesn't feel our pain" nonsense. I'm not sure if he has my vote, but I am certainly willing to talk to him and let him earn it. We need a candidate that can defeat Marsden.
