Yesterday was a big day for Delegate Patrick Hope. For the last 28 years he has been participating in the "National Lite-Brite Tournament" without much success. But in the single elimination tournament, Patrick was able to defeat seven elementary school students as well as the senior citizen pictured above to advance to the national semifinals!
Unfortunately Delegate Hope's Lite-Brite demonstration of Mount Vernon was topped by a nine year old from Portland Oregon who was able to redesign the Sistene Chapel in the semifinals- but he was able to recover and win the 3rd place round for a bronze medal!
Congrats Patrick! Next year this will be your title.
For the love of Pete.
Seriously?
No, seriously?
Can't decide of this is sad or creepy.
The dumbing down of America in the flesh.

Great satire, Ben. It ranks up there with the creepy old man stalking Young Democrats of a few years ago.

The "National Lite- Brite Tournament"?
Is there some reason on God's green earth that we should care about that? No...wait...is there some reason in the vastness of the Universe that anyone should know what the hell that is?
It must be one of those NOVA things.
