This press release went out for the Virginia Progressive Caucus this morning. Full disclosure, I've signed on to be the group's Treasurer. See more coverage here, here and here.

PROGRESSIVE CAUCUS FORMS PACThe 21 member progressive caucus that was formed in the General Assembly this year today announced the formation of the Virginia Progressive Caucus Political Action Committee. The PAC will support candidates for the General Assembly who share the membership's progressive values and plan to join the Progressive Caucus if elected.
Virginia Progressive Caucus PAC founder and Co-Chairman Patrick Hope noted the importance of this PAC. "General Assembly elections typically bring extremely low turnout, so a critical factor in winning seats is mobilizing the base. Democrats in Virginia have failed to do that in many elections because progressive voters have struggled to determine who the candidates were that would really stand up and fight for their values. We hope to see this PAC give voters an additional tool in determining that, as well as providing the financial support to those candidates to help them be elected." The Progressive Caucus PAC will issue a first round of endorsements in August.###
The Progressive PAC Motto:
We will progressively raise your taxes, progressively raise spending, progressively take over your medical care, progressively tell you how to live your lives…and progressively make ourselves obsolete by offending millions of freedom loving Americans. Now that’s progress!

Ghost of RWR keep repeating the lies of Grover Norquist. Taxes are as low as they have been for 30 years and the rich are richer and the poor are poorer because the CEOS are paying their workers less and pocketing more of the profits.
And apparently you right wing nuts don't mind telling women and gays how to live their lives and telling people with disabilities they have to just deal with inaccessibility because it is too burdensome on private industry to level the playing field. And apparently you like insurance companies that bankrupt people with disabilities and chronic conditions or refuse them care all together, so that you can refuse to participate in a health care system in the name of freedom that you'd be better off participating in anyway.
You wingnuts are selfish SOBS and I'm calling you out! We progressives are getting angry as you tread on us and our rights and we're fighting back and throwing the TEA overboard!

Truthteller,
Looked at your pal Obama's numbers lately? The only one being thrown overboard are the liberals...err, sorry...I mean "progressives".

You didn't engage anything I said, you just engaged in what might aptly be called taunting.... You are a sorry excuse for a human being and obviously couldn't engaged in a reasoned and articulate debate if you were handed a script and given instructions thru an earpiece. But keep on hurling insults, it suits you very well and shows just how much creedence people should give you -- NONE!

Just like a liberal. You guys always act as if you’re smarter than the rest of the population. You really don’t get it, do you? This is not an act for you, is it? You really do think you have it all nicely wrapped up in a body of thought the rest of us should be compelled to embrace. The arrogance of the left—liberals like you—is breath-taking, if not a bit disgusting. Obama is headed for the tank. Pal, because he belives what you do. Read it a weep…

Ben, you are setting yourself up for disappointment again. Every time you lick the behinds of these people, they end up farting in your face.

TT,
Interesting diatribe…
I’ll take a shot at your issues…
No conservative is telling women or gays how to live their lives. They do like to look out for the most vulnerable (unborn) and protect the sanctity of marriage (family).
Regarding “disabilities”, I have to walk 100 yards to find a non-handicap parking space at most retail outlets because of so many h-cap parking places being used by those abusing that system.
Insurance is not a “right”, may not be fair but life is like that…
I suggest you get a job, work hard, get to be a CEO and give everything away if that makes you happy. otherwise don’t complain because someone worked harder than you and has more.
Your entitlement attitude is what has put our country in the debt we currently face.
Learn to fish yourself and quit asking everyone else for something to eat…

Oh I'm doing fine for myself and fishing for myself. I just don't believe in you conservatives destroying the opportunity, social mobility and safety net to advance your own narrow self interests. If you greedy people have your way, there won't be affordable colleges, student loans will be an overwhelming burden, social mobility will be a thing of the past, and families will be punished and bankrupted for caring for their loved ones who are seniors or people with disabilities. That's not a land of opportunity, but a land of social darwinism
And ghost of RWR --- selfish is as selfish does.
If you think Obama's poll ratings are a reflection of the unpopularity of liberalism, think again. Most liberals and progressives like me think he's a moderate to moderate conservative, and poll numbers (CNN/ Washington Post) show that his sinking poll numbers are largely due to increasing loss of support for POTUS AMONG LIBERALS

Tt,
Your belief that it is the responsibility of taxpayers and not individual families to take care of their own reflects the entitlement thinking that has gotten our country in the mess we currently face.
People like you want to send grandma off to a home and have taxpayers foot the bill while you spend you bucks (assuming you are working, if not you spend taxpayer bucks) on your next vacation/IPOD/cell phone/cable bill or whatever other like “necessity” you can’t do without.
That attitude disgusts me…
It is now up to taxpayers to give everyone an unlimited education, a home, 3 cable tv’s, a hover chair, diabetes kits that “talk”, high tech catheters, therapy, little blue pills to get them up and abortions when the pills work…etc..ect… ad nausea…
These are not “needs” they are “wants” what people like you refuse to understand is that when the money runs out from paying for “wants” there is none left for “needs”.
Go fish…
btw.. if you are doing so "fine for yourself" try doing something for someone else instead of trying to take my money to spend as YOU see fit...

Apparently the American dream and equality of opportunity mean nothing to you, Change. You are selfish arrogant and pathetic. America can only succeed if we're all in the same boat. Your greed is good, I've got mine attitude gives Americans a bad name and disgusts me... Give other people a hand up (affordable education, affordable health care) NOT a hand out and a rising tide will lift all boats!
Posted by: truthteller | July 28, 2011 at 11:41 PM
Tt,
i agree with "hand up's" but i stop when they become abusive.
you don't know me or what i do for others, i like to decide what to do with my money; uber liberals always seem to have a problem with that.
