while never a tradition in my Virginia home (nor in my mother's deep South home), there is no one in my family that wouldn't jump for joy to see homemade mac 'n cheese on the Thanksgiving (or any other) table!

On Thanksgiving it's not just Mac' n Cheese... It's baked Mac' n Cheese, big difference... I'd give ol'Pat a pass on this one, being culturally stupid is not necessarily racist. Since Mac' n Cheese is traditionally poor people food, I imagine he is as dumb struck by it as we are by gold shavings as an ice cream topping.

We baked it and called it macaroni pudding. Usually had small bits of ham in it. Delilicious!!!

"Chris" is a nimrod. I once worked in an all-black office, with two black partners and a half-dozen black staffers. I was the only white dude in the place. I used to bring in food that some of them thought was strange, and on several occasions, different people in the office would say, "that must be a white thing, I've never seen that."

We had a good laugh, and it never occurred to any of us that they were being racist.
