OUT OF 2013 FIELD. Former Congressman Tom Perriello who is taking on a new job as head of the Center for American Progress Action Fund. Congrats Tom!
IN 2013 FIELD? Pete Snyder, the director of Virginia Victory 2012 (and my former boss) is leaving New Media Strategies to head up a new venture. Congrats Pete!
But that's not all. Politico reports Pete may be running for the GOP nomination for Lt. Governor in Virginia in 2013. Pete would be an extremely formidable candidate if he decides to run, so stay tuned.
Where did you work for him?

Bad news for Corey Stewart. It's hard enough to win a Nova v Rova match up in a GOP primary (see: Connaughton, S), even harder when others are taking your geographical base.

Matt- at New Media Strategies.

Stewart has advantages that Connaughton did not. For one thing, he's actually a CONSERVATIVE from NoVA.

Ben,
You worked for someone who was a republican? Someone who hated old people, children, dogs, cats, three legged horses…etc….????? for shame……
OK joking aside… what kind of guy is he?
Posted by: change | December 15, 2011 at 07:32 PM
So Perriello continues his long-running streak of going through life never having held a real job. Bully for him.

Tom has some real friends over there- Go look at their site-ACORN - or read this.

These guys are really dangerous for our country.
Posted by: Tucker Watkins | December 15, 2011 at 09:32 PM
Nice try, Tucker actually most Jewish leaders have disavowed the fake attacks on Think Progress. Sometimes being a friend to Israel means telling them when they are doing stupid and counterproductive things. Republicans used to get that, but now you guys endorse McCarthyistic witchhunts against anyone who dares to criticize Netanyahu. Tzippi Livni the leader of the Israeli opposition would be classified by your ilk as an antisemite!
Posted by: just the facts | December 16, 2011 at 02:25 AM
Tucky Wat, are you running Virgil Goode's campaign for President? Enquiring minds want to know.
Posted by: TuckyWattle | December 16, 2011 at 03:16 AM
Tom Perriello has been on the Soros payroll for many years. He jet took a two year sabbatical to be in congress. Those of you who hide behind fake names need no acknowledgment when you poke your heads out from under your rock.
Posted by: Tucker Watkins | December 16, 2011 at 09:36 AM
You didn't respond to the substance of my critique. Instead resorting to years old, unsubstantiated Soros bashing. Those of you who hide behind logical fallacies and invocations of chimerical monsters in order to defend the 1% need no respect when you trot out the old hobbyhorses to bash
Posted by: just the facts | December 16, 2011 at 09:51 AM
He's hot!

"Eli Clifton, ThinkProgress’ National Security reporter, has also recently articulated the view that it is “factually inaccurate” to assume that “Iran has a nuclear weapons program" . . .
OMG. I had respect for Periello, but now that's gone.

I'm a douche!!!!

See here for some recent falsehoods from Perriello's new home:

Lots of work for Tom, cleaning out the verifiably false statements as well as draining the fever swamp of anti-semitism.

Fimian also looking at LG.
Posted by: Not This Again | December 16, 2011 at 04:43 PM
Wait, so is Tom Perriello taking the reigns of leading the charge of anti-semitism, or is he secretly under the influence and getting the support of one of the wealthiest Jews in the world? Gah! I don't know which ridiculous talking point to believe!
Posted by: Sam | December 16, 2011 at 05:00 PM
JY, you got it half-right, Lord Connaughton was certainly not a conservative from anywhere, but then again neither is Corey; an opportunist and charlatan yes, conservative, not by any definition.
Posted by: Corey's Accountant | December 16, 2011 at 05:17 PM
Well, "half right" is more credit than I usually get around here!
Posted by: James Young | December 16, 2011 at 07:47 PM
Again, the only people saying that the Center for American Progress is anti semitic are extreme right wingers. Jen Rubin's source recanted after several of his associates said the charge was spurious. Tell me one thing that the Center for American Progress has said that is more critical of the Israeli government than what opposition leader Tzippi Livni has said about Netanyahu and his extremist Yisrael Betanynu ally Avigdor Lieberman.
Still waiting for one of you to find something... But you won't. All you can say is "ooooh they criticized Israel," but there are many American Jews and members of the Israeli opposition who have had even more scathing critiques of Israel. Most recently there was an uproar in the American Jewish community at ads run by Israel targeted at emigrees which implied that Jews lose their identity when they spend time with Americans.
You and the "Emergency Committee" to Elect Republicans by claiming Democrats and Liberals are anti-Semitic need to get some new talking points. If your line is that people are anti-Semitic if they criticize Israel then nearly half of America's Jews would have to fall into that category because they have criticized Israel. As did Presidents Reagan, and Bush Senior as well. Sometimes being a friend means telling them when they are acting like a jerk or making dumb decisions. That is what J-Street, the Center for American progress and others are doing when we criticize the Netanyahu government.
Shame on you Chubber and Tucker for your ignorant insults of American Jews.
If you want to talk real antiSemitism it was actually the McDonnell Administration's social services board that was taking a borderline anti-Semitic position by allowing local state certified adoption agencies to discriminate on the basis of religion in adoptions.

Center job is a holding place for Tom, national exposure, bigger things to come from him. And since When does taking a job in 2011 remove you from statewide race in 2013?
Posted by: Wow | December 17, 2011 at 08:28 AM
It's really a shame. With Tom and Barney gone, Congress lost its best closeted and openly gay members.
Posted by: Not Bubby | December 17, 2011 at 10:49 PM
Hey Not Bubby, care to offer something substantive rather than making insinuations about people's personal lives?
Posted by: just the facts | December 18, 2011 at 03:29 AM
I didn't insinuate anything, you dull-witted child. It was very clear and out in the open, unlike Tom's persuasion.
Posted by: Not Bubby | December 18, 2011 at 07:57 AM
I have no use for Perriello --- I think he was the preeminent lightweight in the Virginia delegation --- but I have no more use for people who make unsupported accusations of sexual deviance. They're no better who accuse defenders of traditional morality of being closeted deviants.
Posted by: James Young | December 18, 2011 at 03:52 PM
Not Bubby, you are the only one blatantly smearing people, which makes YOU the "dull-witted child"
James, we seldom agree on much and I don't agree with your assessment of Perriello's legislative record. However, I will take this opportunity to agree with and compliment you on your remarks about having no use for people who make unsupported accusations.
Posted by: just the facts | December 18, 2011 at 04:23 PM
Neither of you spent much time in Charlottesville during Tom's tenure, or when he was growing up. That's ok. People in C'ville know Tom.
